Has anyone experienced the sale of an apartment in Russia?  My wife is about to sell hers, and we are having difficulty finding anyone with advice.  Is it possible to come back with the money??

My wife is selling her flat in Russia and the monies from the sale will be deposited in the local bank and transferred directly into our account here. The one think that my wife had to do, was to send here passport to her father in Russia and have it stamped by the local authorities showing that she does not live in the flat anymore.

There are limitations on cash leaving Russia and entering the US (I believe).
You may wish to take the trip along with her on this one, as it may be easier for you to help deal with contingencies.
This topic is probably best explored by questioning US customs people because of the new dept laws of Boneland Security.
I haven't seen it explored in depth on this board.
On other boards I seen them renting their flats etc.

My wife does own property in Odessa. She is still a Ukraine citizen.
