Hi everyone,

I am planning a trip to Dnepropetrovsk over the holidays to see my fiancee. We are going to try to spend New Years in Vienna but we are also thinking about places in Ukraine. Where would be the best place to go for New Years in Ukraine? I imagine Kiev will be nice but what do people think about Odessa? Is Yalta completely dead at that time or does it come alive for New Years? I liked the boardwalk area of Yalta with all the restaurants and clubs but I wonder how dead it will be at that time. From what I read, Odessa seems to be nice and might be fun to go to. I know Kiev will also be good but that is not high on my list because I have been there.

Any suggestions or have any of you spent New Years over there?

Z.

Hello!
Nice to hear from you again. You know, Yalta isn't dead at all during New Year holiday. More of that: all hotels charge even more then in October-November because many people come over to spend this mistery time there. All restaurants and discos are open like in Summer. You have no chance to see snow on the streets, but the Mountains are just beautiful with snow. You can easy go to Ay-Petry by cable car and enjoy skiing there. And of course you can stay in Simeiz like you did before.
So... welcome to Crimea again!!
Say hello to youe fiancee from me pelase.

Hi Eugene!

Hope all is well with you and your family. I was going to send you email after I got some ideas to ask you these questions. How is your city over New Years? I really liked the park you took us to. Sveta and I talk about it sometimes.

What kind of prices can we find for a flat in Yalta over New Years? Since it will be cold I don't think Simiez would be the best place to stay.

Thanks again for your reply! I am sending SMS to Sveta as I am typing this and she says hi...
