I was wondering if anyone knew how long it takes the Nebraska center to process K-1 Visas?  I will be filling out the forms this week and would like to know the approximate approval times.

Hi Dandy , and welcome to the PL forum .

Right now , the Nebraska Service Center is working on I-129F's that were submitted during the week of August 22 , 2002 . That is pretty close to 6 months / 180 days .

Nebraska is currently saying to expect a wait of 150 - 180 days . That is , of course , no guarantee . With all of the organizational changes coming soon to the INS / Homeland Security , and with the state of current events in the news , it would not surprise me if there were more revisions to K-1 timeline estimates in the near future ( but that is just a guess and purely speculation on my part ) .

You should receive your first Notice of Action / Receipt within a week of submitting your I-129F . After that , well your guess is as good as mine . Right now , it's taking about 6 months . I submitted my paperwork to the Nebraska Service Center around the middle of September 2002 , and I'm still waiting for approval . We're hoping that we'll be hearing something in the next month or so .

Best of Luck to You

Don

Mine was 134 days and she is here now but I had heard that it could now be as long as 235 days..  Unreal.  Hope that is not correct, but with Homeland Security taking over the INS, many believed it would lead to extreme delays and it looks like it could.

Best of luck.

Just got my first NOA Feb 7th from Nebraska. It says expected processing time 150-180 days on it.

Oh and congrats, now change that "searching" in your profile to "engaged" :-)
