QUestion for Darolina

I e mailed you but did not get a response. I asked you if it made ANY difference if one is American but NOT a gringo. In other words like in my case I'm Latino but living in Texas. Does that even matter to a Colombian? I have had several make negative remarks about Mexicans but most being far from the truth such as Mexicans drink a lot & beat their women!! LOL!!

Hola Frank,
Well, in your case I think you have an advantage, the language is one, and besides, you should have some of the Latin culture in you but since you were raised in the US you also have the good things about the American culture.
It doesn't really matter to Colombians, I think it's a great advantage, you know the Latin culture, as well as the American culture so basically you can understand better some of those cultural differences there are, right?

Only comment I've heard consistently is that they think that Mexican men are muy machistas.  Aside from that, if you speak spanish there is more positive than negative because they think you are better able to relate because of your latin heritage/culture. -TNC

Funny but growing up where I did it's part of the culture. Having said that I don't know a SINGLE ranchera & that's because I'm a MUSICIAN man!! LOL!

I don't know the proper name of that song, but I always think of the old Fritos commercial.  That  song was used as the "Fritos Bandito" song.  It was funny to me.  That was many years ago.
