My girlfriend lives in Mandaue. When I arrive after many hours of travel, I don't want any hassel. Can someone give me the name of a budget hotel on Mactan where I can stay for a night or two, 15$-$40. I can then find somthing on the beach myself, unless someone has some ideas there too. I have heard Eddies, in Cebu is nice, but it seems out of the way. Thanks again Capt david

Mactan isn't a good place for budget hotels all the rip off so called five star hotels are there. A budget hotel in the Philippines should cost no more than P500 to P800 maybe a little more in big citys.  Does she work at the computer chip place?   I would HIGHLY recommend going over to Siquijor to the Coral Cay Resort ran by Dave & Hellen Very nice! and they have Budget rooms for around P600.

Humabdos    Get the book it will answer all your questions The Coral Cay is listed there with a cell number.

The Shang-ri-la is a very nice hotel on the beach.
A year ago they were running a promo rate of $50
a night for Filipinos.  Your girlfriend can get you registered at the promo price.  Normal price is about
$100-125, so $50 is a great deal if it is offered.
Waterfront hotel near the airport should be nice
if you just want to fly in and go right to a nice hotel and sleep.  It is about $50 a night also.
Of course there are cheaper places to stay, but many tend to be noisy, smelly, or uncomfortable.
If it were me, I would book a nice place to stay and rest until I learned my way around.
