Hmmmm......Well let's see. The car show opened at 10 AM (as all the flyers said). We got there at 11 AM. We waited about 30 minutes in line and nothing was happening. I asked why no one was being let in and the VIP representative said they didn't have any tickets to sell. Ok......one of the many cops standing around said we had to come back at 12 noon. Ok, fine we'll go over to Cosmo Centro and have some lunch and we'll come back. So, we came back at 12:30 PM and we waited in line for 30 more minutes and the same thing. I asked what was going on and another VIP rep said that the 4 guys selling tickets were eating lunch. All 4 of them? There was about 40 people in line including about 10 people who had been waiting since 11 am like we had been. The VIP rep said please wait 5 more minutes. That was at 1 PM. The 4 guys that were suppose to be selling tickets were sitting right there in plain view of everyone in line, eating and smoking. Didn't care one whit about the people standing in line. Apparently, the tickets showed up at 12 PM but they had to stop and eat lunch. So, about 1:30 PM I asked the VIP rep again when they were going to start selling tickets again, and he told me to please wait 5 more minutes. Screw that!  We left.
So, here you have people who paid for flyers with specific time for the opening and all the radio spots and they weren't letting people in because someone, the people organinzing the event,  forgot to bring tickets to sell. It was pretty sad to see food booths and the stage set up for something and all the people who brought down there cars to show, just sitting around because the organizers were telling people to wait in line for 5 more minutes for hours. No one was there. You could see people at the booths and the car owners looking at the people in line looking at us and the VIP reps. like "What the Hell." They could see us and we could see them but the organizers wouldn't let people in. It was kind of embarassing. Then when they finally get the tickets, the ticket sellers go on their lunch break for 2 hours. I finally saw people being let in about 2:15 PM. 4 hours and 15 minutes after the scheduled start time. For no more reason than being unorganized and apathy for the people the organizers wanted as customers.
So, if someone has a review for the actual cars and show let me know.
Pretty pathetic organization there.

Is this a microcosm of Latin American business culture?

I can't say L.A. in general, because I don't know, but I would say Cali. I've done business with quite a few people over the years here and it gets frustrating. Just my opinion.
