Out of Miami, besides AA, Avianca has direct flights. Copa flys out of Miami too but has a stop in Panama. Continental flys into Bogota from Houston. Delta flys into Bogota from Atlanta with flights down to Medellin either on Avianca or Aerorepublica. (about 100 clams extra RT) Title: Re: Re: Medellin Flights Post by: Gator on February 06, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Medellin Flights, posted by pablo on Feb 6, 2005
From where? Miami-Avianca, Copa, Lacsa, et. al Is there a problem with your flying Avianca? I like either Copa or Avianca but use Avianca for the FF miles. Avianca has some super specials and you can, at times, find a cheap SW Airlins to MIA then the MDE Title: Re: Re: Re: Medellin Flights Post by: Pete E on February 07, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Re: Medellin Flights, posted by Gator on Feb 6, 2005
Southwest flies to Ft.Lauderdale, then you have to get to Miami International, about 20 miles away. The big problem is checking in in Miami, especially Avianca is a huge hassle. So if the price is at all close take a flight that can transfer you in Miami. Im out of Denver. I also have a FF Account w/ Avianca. I usually use cheaptickets.com you can still claim your miles if you fly a major carrier like AA. Im looking at about $863 r/t from Denver to MD on AA. If you can use one airline it makes it a little easier. Ill surf for a few weeks to see how the prices flucuate before I buy. I flew to B/quilla in Jan $1,000 AA to Mia ($500) then Mia to BQ ($500). Around $800 is not a bad price from Denver to MD. Title: I You have the miles or bucks then... fly with whom you feel most confortable. Avianca offers $310.00 USD plus about $50.00 USD which INCLUDES the departure tax from Medellin. Dates of travel are: 18FEB05 - 24FEB05;-26MAY05 - 02JUN05; 01SEP05 - 09SEP05; 06OCT05 - 13OCT05; 10NOV05 - 15NOV05; 21NOV05 - 30NOV05 Add in about $225 for the trip to Miami (some cheaper some more expensive). If theses dates fit your travel plans it is a good deal. BTW Aviance is always offeriing specials. With them it pays to call direct forst. |
