Title: Some Cali Crime stries
Post by: Pete E on January 17, 2005, 05:00:00 AM
My girlfriend isa nurse at Imbanaco,an upscale hospital- medical clinic. She tellsme storiesabout patients.
The first and most distubing, happened about 10 days ago.A  gringo was found at Unicentral. He was all doped up on the knock out drug, scopamine Ithink its called. He was missing hiswallet and his shoes. He does not remember anything. The fact he was foundat Unicentral,a major mall is disturbing.I thought those were about the safest places you could go.I guess people can put thisin a drink or
just blow it in your face in powder form.
More recently, like 2 days ago a woman and 2 children were brought in from a nearby town. They had been shot by guirillas. The woman and one child died.
A different story, not acrime was interesting.Agringo came in with his Colombiana girl friend. He had somehowdamaged hispenis, from her discription it just split like a Y.She said  it cost him 2,000,000
for an operation to restore it.She asked if I thought that too much.I said it would be the least of my concerns.I was trying to find out howit happened so I wouldn't do it,but it sounds like he missed and hit something hard.I guess it wasa big joke at the hospital. The girlfriendwasvery embarrased.I guess the doctorsgot the story but wouldn't tell.
Sorry,I guess my keyboard isnot getting all the spaces. If I go back to fix it it wippesout the next letter,I basically have to rewrite the whole thing.

Severe injuries to the penis during sex are extremely rare and it makes me wonder if he was taking steroids or some other medication that weakens the tissues.

That "Y" split is the kind of image that will stick in my head. I will probably go slower and more careful next time
regardless. :o)

No, it was good he was found at Unicentro. Whoever jacked him probably dropped him off there, knowing he'd be found quickly by the authorities, instead of face down in a ditch somewhere.

Pete, do you have any worries you're becoming somewhat of a known fixture in the Cali landscape. Are you taking security precautions?

I heard once on the radio of an idiot who injected cocaine into his penis, and it did not go down for like 48 hours.  After that, the idiot became concerned and went to hospital, but it was too late and he lost it.  It rotted or something like that - I am not a doctor.

If a man takes more than the recommended dose of Viagara, his penis stays erect so long, that he begins to hurt and he begs that he be deflated.  The only remedy is that he go the emergency room and they can give him muscle relexants.

David,
I have only heard about those complications; I have no personal experience either good or bad with Viagra.  However, I have been trying to get some correct info on the subject.  Since I am over 50, that is becoming more of a concern for me.  Are you a doctor, or is that just some info you know about otherwise?  Besides Viagra, there are obviously several products on the market now;  with those non-stop commercials!  Do you are anyone else have any knowledge of how to compare each product?  I figure it can't help to learn more about this sort of stuff!

I am a pharmacist. I talk with the nurses in the emergency rooms every day. In someways, the overdosing in sad, but in somewy\ays it is comical. always, follow the directions and do not think that you are smarter than the dosage that is indicated on the label of the prescription

Ok David,  I have a follow question or two.  Which product do you think does the most good, overall?  Viagra, Cielas, or the other one (I can't remember)?  They all seem to make similar claims.  As I have said, I have not used any of them.  But, I might need to consider using something soon.  It's not great to admit, but I am not as virile as I once was.(ie, being 51 is certainly different from being 21, or even 31!)  Frankly, I need to consider some options before I get into a serious relationship with a latina 10-20 years younger than me.  I figure that since you are a pharmacist, you probably know alot about these products, and can set all the BS and hype aside.

Like you, I have never used them. all the claims are about the same. Viagara will last about 4 hours maximum,  You take in about an hour before intercourse. Cialis, my customers, tell me lasts about 3 days. you will not get the sustained errection for 4 hours that you get will Viaga, but you will achieve more errections in the time period than you could with viagara

Here is an informative web site discussing the popular three forms of treating ED.

http://www.usrf.org/news/030303_PDE5_inhibitors/030303_PDE5_inhibitors.html

All are available over the counter in Colombia (w/o prescription) as well as a much cheaper generic brand of Viagra using the active ingredient sildenafil.

Pablo,
I was hoping that someone would tell me that.  W/O a prescription and cheaper sounds great!  Especially while visiting a foreign country like Colombia. I am a veteran, and I use the VA clinic in my local area.  They told me they would only give a prescription for a couple of Viagra pills per month.  Since I have never used them, I wasn't so concerned at the time.  But,now, I would like a cheaper, easier way to sample them then the prescription route. For one thing, I am sure they affect each man a little different.  I figure if I have an inexpensive way to sample the different pills, I will find out what is best for me.  Anyhow, thanks for the info.

I especially liked reading about the one doctor at that link I provided.

"Modern drug therapy for ED was advanced enormously (pun intended I guess) in 1983 when British physiologist Giles Brindley, Ph.D. dropped his trousers and demonstrated to a shocked AUA audience his phentolamine-induced erection".

Now that chap had a set of huevos!

Pablo,
That is one of the funniest things I have heard in a long time! ha  However, in my case, I think I will keep any results to myself--and the lady in question!

Maybe,it warns you on the lable if the erection lasts longer than 4 hours that you could be damaged. But you have to continue  to be sexually arroused or it just goes away. Also I have heard of ring type devices put on the penis to maintain errections that have caused huge swelling.I guess unless the docs fess up it will be a mystery.
I would presume something way out of the ordinary we need not worry about unlsswe are doing something way out of the ordinary.
I was more concerned about the scopomine story.

Penile fracture is the traumatic rupture of the corpus cavernosum. Traumatic rupture of the penis is relatively uncommon and is considered a urologic emergency.
Sudden blunt trauma or abrupt lateral bending of the penis in an erect state can break the markedly thinned and stiff tunica albuginea, resulting in a fractured penis. One or both corpora may be involved, and concomitant injury to the penile urethra may occur. Urethral trauma is more common when both corpora cavernosa are injured.

.....

Frequency: To date, the number of reported cases in the published literature is estimated to be fewer than 300. Trauma during sexual relations is reported to be responsible for approximately one third of all cases; the female-dominant position is most commonly reported. The incidence of concomitant urethral injury in reported cases is 10-38%.

Etiology: In the Western Hemisphere, the injury most commonly occurs during sexual intercourse when the penis slips out of the vagina and strikes the perineum or the pubic symphysis. Other potential causes include industrial accidents, masturbation, gunshot wounds, or any other mechanical trauma that causes forcible breaking of an erect penis.

In Middle Eastern countries, the injury more commonly occurs secondary to penile manipulation to achieve detumescence. Additional rare etiologies include turning over in bed, a direct blow, forced bending, or hastily removing or applying clothing when the penis is erect.
