Hello to all,

I wanted to post an update on my Latina. I do not post very often. I met my Novia on the internet in Feb 2005 we got to know each other over the course of the year. I asked her to meet me in Panama, because I was too chicken to come to Colombia. We met in person in Aug 2004 in Panama City and spent a week in Boquete at the La Via Lactia (highly recommend). We had a great time. I figured if I wanted to see her again it would have to be in Colombia, so I agreed. In October I went to Bogota to see mi novia. Spent a week visited a number of touristy things and visited the farm she runs, met her family and had a great time. We IM each other all the time and email as well. I call her quite often. I really enjoy the time we have spent and the chemistry that we have. It is so different from an AW, no bitterness sarcasm coldness. She makes it obvious that she loves me and cherishes me and the time we spend together. No red flags and I really looked. never asked for money nada... I am lucky I found a wonderful woman. My life will never be the same now that she is in it.
I just got back from my second visit to Colombia. I flew in and we stayed one night in Bogota and then the next morning visited her family where I asked her parents permisson to marry their daughter. After getting the green light we then flew to Cartagena where we spent a week enjoying each other's company. We rented an apartment on Laguito on the ocean with a wonderful view. It was crowded but we had a nice time going to the beach walking in the Old City, Santo Domingo etc... After a nice dinner I asked her to marry me and she graciously accepted. I was a little worried on her silence that evening after I proposed, not really sure if she like the ring etc... Well every night after she would put the ring back in the box and leave it open where she could see it before bed and when she woke up.  So yeah she liked it. She is both very happy and very sad. She wants to start her new life but is sad about the life that she will be leaving behind. I think I hooked a wonderful woman and an excellent wife. I am sure I could have found me a younger hotter chica, but with those come many problems.. most of them should be obvious to all.. She is my Colita Rica.... I could not have found a more wonderful woman I got ill for a couple of days and she was very good to me amking sure I was okay well fed and hydrated and ran down to the Pharmacia when I needed it... The most she ever asked me for was money for a 14,000 peso watch and a 21,000 peso purse...

So for those that just are not sure get down there and meet yourself a honey. All shapes and sizes to choose from. Once you get a taste of their love and affection, you will wonder what you are wating for. When you return you will not even notice our AW'S. My advise clean yourself up nice, dress sharp, be confident, and learn Spanish. Contrary to popular belief many people do not speak English in this world. My Novia barely speakes English and I am learning Spanish. It is not that difficult for me because I studied French in college. So gook luck for those that are serious about finding a great woman. LEAVE THE AMERICAN ATITUDE BEHIND AND THE BITTERNESS FROM PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS IT WILL NOT SERVE YOU WELL IN COLOMBIA.

Hi Jim,
Enjoyed your story.  I guess you meant that you met your novia in Feb 2004, not 2005?  I am also interested in her age?  You commented that she was not one of the younger "hotties."  If your info is current, you  are only 33, right?  So, she can't be too old.  At any rate, sounds like you snagged a good one.  Best of luck.

I am sorry I met her in Feb 2004 and I am 34 and she is 32. I doubt meeting your future wife by internet will work for most, but it is a good way to get your feet wet.
I prefer a girl closer to my age. If I was say 44 I am sure I would probably look for a younger woman say late twenties early thirties. Take care all I will keep you updated on the K-1 process and the "ceremony" back in Bogota to make her family happy after she receives her paperwork to travel.
