Title: US Embassy, Bogota: Jan. 2004
Post by: Gary Bala on January 06, 2004, 05:00:00 AM
I am planning a trip to Bogota from Jan. 08 to 20, 2004.
I will visit with Nelson at LAI, and my paralegal in Bogota.

I also requested an appointment to meet with the Chief of the Immigrant Visa
section of the US Embassy and others who handle
processing of fiancee and spousal visas. Because of my office's
history of cases with the Embassy, I plan to discuss
general case processing issues, ways to improve the process,
and any things my office and the Embassy can do to move
cases more smoothly and efficiently. I cannot discuss any
specific cases but rather general issues and problems common to all cases.

If any of you have any general issues or common topics which you
would like to raise with the Embassy, or positive constructive suggestions,
I will be happy to present them at my meeting (with or without referring
to your name, as you wish).

Please send me a private e-mail and, if it is appropriate, I will raise
the issue or topic with the Chief counsel.

Any public results of the meeting will be posted on my websites.

Feel free to distribute this message to any friends and colleagues.

Best regards for the New Year,
GB

PS Yesterday, Immigration Service began the new US-VISIT program.
Most arriving foreign visitors with a non-immigrant visa, to include
K-1 and K-3 visa holders, are now digitally fingerprinted and photographed.
