Title: Ban who? Ban you
Post by: snap38 on July 09, 2003, 04:00:00 AM
All of you guys calling for Aaron to be banned needs to be banned them selves then.  Aaron asked one simple question.  "Are you telling us a story about this whole thing ???? "  From there you all went crazy at attacking him.  The original story is a major story, and some of you may know "Bruce", but not everyone does.  I feel for Bruce's situation, but in reality it could have been a ficticious story.  I guess this will set off a firestorm for you all to ban me next right???

This thing has already been talked to death.  Doesn't matter who anyone asked to ban or not ban.  Patrick runs this board and makes up his own mind who gets banned or not.  He doesn't let us influence him, so all the ban talk is strictly academic.

Bogota Vet got banned not because anyone requested it, but for posting from 2 accounts, something I wanted to bring up as a retaliatory point when he was flaming my ass a couple days ago, but I let it pass because I figured Patrick must know about it.  I guess Patrick didn't know about it.

Bogota Vet and Bogota Vet 1.  Guess Patrick doesn't know about JunFan and JunFanDallas.  Or maybe he does and that is why JunFan hasn't weighed in recently.

P.S. Jim, I made a quick unplanned trip to Key West on the 4th of July and ended up not being able to find a hotel in Key West or anywhere else in the Keys.  My wife and I got to Key West just in time for the fireworks and then when I tried to find a room for the night there was nothing.  I ended driving all the way back to Fort Lauderdale that night because I never found a single hotel with an available room in all the Keys and I tried at over a dozen all the way up the Keys past Key Largo. I didn't realize the 4th was such a popular holiday in the Keys.  I have come to Key West on Memorial day unplanned before and had no problem getting a room in Key West.

Thanks, I thought about that but it was pretty much a "hey baby let's drive down the keys" kind of thing.  I suppose I could have posted a message before I left and checked my email at an internet cafe in Key West to see if you answered but the whole thing was pretty much spur of the moment.

Title: Dual accounts

Actually, I had been meaning to get another account also, like cancun_hound1 or something, just hadn't got around to it yet.    Problem is when you sign up your IP is pegged and are stuck with it.  Kind of a pain when you frequent more than one computer.  Those examples above look like they were doing the same thing.  Had I known this at signup I would have utilized a webproxy (mask your IP) so I could get by with one account on multiple computers (until Patrick removes the IP restriction).  I'm not sure what the reason would be for having an IP registered for this type of forum?

I don't think you are restricted by IP.  I post from home and at work with the same id.  I just had to put my password the first time on each computer and it created a cookie for my account on both computers.  I have even posted when I go to Colombia.

That's right. All you have to do is type the password the first time (or after a crash and rebuild that trashed your cookies) on any computer. Some people are honestly confused about using two computers and think they need two accounts, SOME people (nobody in this thread, at least at the time of this post) use is as an 'excuse' for having multiple accounts so they can make mischeif.

If you are out of town, at an internet cafe etc, you can have your password emailed to you. It gets sent to whatever IP email address you used when you signed up.
