www.englishtown.com  It used to be free, you have to pay now, forget how much. It's not really suppossed to be a matchmaker board, it's actualy for people trying to learn English. Besides a bunch of lessons on grammer and spelling etc., it does have real time chat, both text and voice. When it was free, I used to hang out there some, helping the people practice, they are actually thrilled to talk (or text) with a native English speaker. A bunch of 14yo Chinese school girls will suck up all your time if you let them (be nice to them, they are sincerly trying to learn) but enough adult Latinas check in to make it worth your while. Best time is late afternoon local time for the place you are interested in, since most of them will be using a school computer just after classes finish, in the evening, say 7-10pm local time for the more adult crowd. Best method is to politely answer a question like "I read 'blah blah blah' in a book, but I don't understand, can anybody help me?" I didn't (and don't recomend) sweet talking them right there in the 'Practice English' chat room, but many would give you their email and ask you to contact them off line. The whole time I was playing around there, I was seriously involved with a Colombiana that in the end 'didn't work out', so I never did more that help them practice English and answer their questions about America, but some of them came on to me in private emails and I'm sure something could have developed if I'd let it.  ---Might be worth a try for you.

That's what the gals down there are using.  No need to worry about not understanding Spanish.  Pretty rough at times but you can communicate.

what is altavista translation?? Is that some kinda website that transform English to Spainish?? I must admit, Latinas are stunning..got it all..face, body. I like watching those classic dvd movies showing the Cowboys crossing the border having a good time with the Calenas. Never been South of the Border, look foward to it. America just isn't the place for the average older Guy to get any attention from these young chicks unless he is loaded with bread or famous. Should tell us something that John Wayne chosed to marry two different Latinas South of the Border instead on settling on AWs back in his time.

Greg, calenas are women from Cali, Colombia, the term does not apply to all latin women. They are simply called latinas

I met some really nice girls on www.amigos.com

I would suggest NOT puting your photo on there.  Just pick out the ones you want to write.  It has been more than a year since I used it.  Initally I created a profile with 2 or 3 photos and I was getting around 20 to 30 emails a week.  Out of those maybe 2 or 3 I would be interested in writing.  I made a point out of replying to everyone who wrote, if nothing more than a short note.  I met a really cool girl in Cali on there.  We talked on the internet for 18 months before I made my first trip down there.  We shot pool until 3 am my first night in Cali and she beat me all but one game.  I also met some very interesting girls from other SA countries that I would like to have met in person.  I got several emails from Bolivia.

alot. Ummmm, I would like to post my profile and pictures on a good Latina website. I would rather the ladies write me first. I don't like the idea of looking thur their pictures and writing them. Since I speak nor write Spainish, I would like to correspond with those that know basic English. At least it would help me correspond with them...A little is better than nothing. Why did you advice not to post my picture on Amigos.com?? Would also like to correspond with Ladies in Peru, did you know that John Wayne had a long marriage to a lady he met during one of his filming in PERU??? I've met alot of ladies from Peru at the Gym here, they are very nice Ladies. I really don't know how a Cali lady look, but I have met knock out ladies here from Braizle. Yeah Greg, I'm a little confused too why Hiker would say NOT to put your picture on amigos.com, that is unless you are ashamed of your looks.  I have had great success on cybercupido.com, of course, maybe I'm better looking than Hiker.

Hey man it ain't saying much to be better looking than me.  I have to tie a steak around my neck to gt the dogs to play with me.

My reason for not adding a photo is that most women will not write you without first seeing your photo.  If you do not put your photo on your post, you can send it with your email to the ladies you choose to write.  I made a point of answering every response to my post, and the first week of adding photos I was answering a lot of email and the vast majority where women I would never have contacted to start with.  I had a few things on my wish list and a few things on my "has to be" list.  For example I was not interested in a smoker, a woman with more than one kid, specific religions such as Mormans etc.  My wish list had a woman with skin more on the dark side, a woman who expressed interest in outdoor activities etc.  

I found it easier to read the profiles and browse the photos and initiate contact than wading through and replying to women who are not what you are looking for.

Greg, I think it's going to be very difficult to find a web-site that exclusively has Latinas that speak English.  No, I take that back, IMPOSSIBLE.  My advise to you or any other fence sitter, is to keep an open mind, but above all, make an effort to learn spanish if you are serious about this search.  I know it sounds difficult, and it takes alot of effort, but why not make a committment?.  This process is difficult enough as it is, but to not be able to communicate??  I don't know how guys do it.  If you are just looking for women who speak English, I believe there are some on amigos.com or cybercupido, but it will take some effort to find them.

hearing impaired person, it doesn't matter to me if the Lady can't speak English, becuz I cannot hear it :o). If she can write basic English is fine. Okey, since Amigos.com uses English, then maybe thats a Good site for fencers who doesn't know English to start. Pete doesn't know a lick of Spainish, he seem to be doing pretty well with his wife.

Referring to your question about altavista translation, look up www.altavista.com and click on the "translate" link. It's machine translation, thus far from infallible and you sort of have to complete the translation yourself by translating line by line and guessing what the meaning of the sentence is using common sense. Thus something like cypercupido.com might work for you. There is also the MSN/Hotmail personals for the same thing, and many of the ladies listed there speak English so it's worth a try.

Go to www.hotmail.com and sign up for an account, then when you log in to check mail there is a link to click. Don't know what it says in English; in Portuguese it's "paquerar" or "flirt". A couple more clicks will get you an advanced search in any Latin American country based on a number of criteria. You can even specify you want someone who knows some English. I just got back from a very enjoyable date with someone here in town I met through MSN.

(Working from memory instead of a reference book, so I might not get it 100% right, anybody who wants to look it up and corect me is welcome to, but here goes)....John Wayne (born name Marion Michael Morrison) was married 3 times. All were quite beautiful Latinas, one a Peruvian actress/singer that he met while making a movie there and the others Mexicans (I think one of them was an actress too). All of the relationships were pretty 'stormy' and all ended in divorce. When he died he was living with a white AW who had been his secretery (and later his lover) for several years but they never married. One of the Mexicans was a genuine nut case, the others were meerly what was described in the venacular of the times as 'Latin Spitfires' or 'Hellcats'. He had four children with one of them and one (or two?) childern with one of the others. When divorcing the one he had four kids with (in those days there was no 'no fault' divorce you had to have 'grounds') he used "won't perform her 'spousal duties'" as the grounds. The judge said "But Mr. Morrison, you have four children by this woman" and he replied "Four KIDS, four TIMES" and the judge replied "Divorce granted."

that sounds about right. I think most of his plms with his Latinas wifes were becuz he was too busy away making movies. My favorite John Wayne movie is "Red River". I hope to finally visit those countries soon..Must admit that Guys got sand, going especially to Colombia..Family would call me insane if told that I'm on my way to Cali..Getting tired of being ignored by these young AWs here..It would feel great going to a country where old men are appreciated by young chicks instead of us being looked on in disgust. You know, here we would get a dirty look for trying to start a romancing conservation with these young AWs..Look you old man, but no touching lol

I don't really like Red River all that much, although a lot of people do. My favorites are The Quiet Man and Sands of Iwo Jima.....in both of those he (coincidendly???) plays a man with a troubled marriage....but enough, or I'll fill the whole board with off topic movie reviews if I get started.

Go on down to Cali, meet a nice young lady. Just don't meet one TOO young (I try not to be the 'age police' and 'it's your business' but I do think there are limits defined by common sense--some times refered to here as 'thinking with the BIG head').

Many of us on this forum do know that there are two sides to every divorce.

The wife with 4 kids could have had good reason to refuse to perform her spousal duties.  If the Duke took his film roles into their marriage bed, then maybe what she heard was: "Well, Pilgrim, I'm gonna have to yank it out."
