Title: Assumptions Post by: Hiker on April 22, 2003, 04:00:00 AM The past couple of days we have discussed traits or at least the belief of traits a people might or might not have.
While in Bogota I found it interesting when I went with my wife for her blood work. You ring a bell at the front door and the receptionist comes out. Any and all people are allowed inside with the exception of an American male who is there with his wife for the embassy blood work. I learned that this is a relative new procedure. The reason for this is that all American men are rude, impatient, and get upset with them because of the time the woman must wait to be seen. My wife found this interesting and asked if I was from Europe would I be allowed in and the woman said yes, the rule only applied to American men. Also several people in Cali have explained to me how Bogota is cold hearted and thinks only of working. The people from the coast of Colombia are all lazy and only want to drink and live off of others. They explain how Cali has the perfect blend of work and play. |
