Title: worked out well
Post by: mck on April 04, 2002, 05:00:00 AM
I explained to my woman that I need to live with her for a few months before we get married and she agreed also and I  told her she would probably not be able to work for 4-5 months and she was very understanding. I was absolutely amazed. She told me the main reason she wanted to work 80 hours a week was because she has a $300 credit card bill. She did not understand how much money you can make up here. To her that is 2 weeks pay.  I said "Don't even worry about it, I will pay it" and she was like "No I refuse to take your money" Then I said "no when you come up here I will pay it off for ya". Then she said "I will pay you back I promise". What a sweet heart. I think it was just a huge misunderstanding from what we have been talking about on the phone the last few weeks about her wanting to work all the time when she is up here. My spanish is only about 50% fluent. I never asked her what the reason was why she wanted to work right away, which I should have. She was even telling me if she doesn't get married she wants to become a missionary and she claims she doesn't want a dime of my money. A chick like this could not be a shark, no way, no how. If I am being played, she is gotta freaking get an oscar for this role.

Will she stay with you 4-5 months?  Maybe...
 1. Unless you don't stop smoking..
 2. You don't lose that 20 pounds..
 3. Or till the money runs out...
My guess is she will stay till she finds someone who looks better, doesn't smoke, has a nicer car, more money..
How long will that take?
Run man..

"I explained to my woman that I need to live with her for a few months before we get married"

Even a bad play can go for a few months.

"and she agreed also and I told her she would probably not be able to work for 4-5 months and she was very understanding."

Your were amazed because she set you up so smoothy

"I was absolutely amazed. She told me the main reason she wanted to work 80 hours a week was because she has a $300 credit card bill."

Nice round figure, I am surprised she did not say medical expense for her grand mother, Maybe she is saving that for a bigger hit

"She did not understand how much money you can make up here."
? that's why so many die and pay huge fees to be smuggled in.

To her that is 2 weeks pay. I said "Don't even worry about it, I will pay it" and she was like "No I refuse to take your money" Then I said "no when you come up here I will pay it off for ya". Then she said "I will pay you back I promise".
No comment needed

What a sweet heart. I think it was just a huge misunderstanding from what we have been talking about on the phone the last few weeks about her wanting to work all the time when she is up here. My Spanish is only about 50% fluent. I never asked her what the reason was why she wanted to work right away, which I should have. She was even telling me if she doesn't get married she wants to become a "missionary"

Another 50% misunderstanding, The other 50% of "missionary" is "Position"

and she claims she doesn't want a dime of my money.

Of course, she doesn't want coins, only paper.

A chick like this could not be a shark, no way, no how. If I am being played, she is gotta freaking get an Oscar for this role.

Well, to me this does not deserve an Oscar, This is a bad act, Every possible Con and trick has been played, and it has a very predictable ending.

You are the type to have all gringo's labeled as suckers.
This is not to make you feel bad, only think.

To be fair, none of us can assess this accurately just from what you have written. Having said that, many of us have "been there" multiple times and/or have known others who have been there multiple times. This scenario of yours is froth with doubt and irregularities.

It's obvious that you are not seeing a list of serious indications that disaster is imminent. Never, but never, be so quick as to offer money. You are falling fast into a possible big trap. And, I must say, very easily. This gal is probably licking her lips thinking about the benefits from this relationship.

PLease be careful and listen to the big head. You are ripe for the picking.

Wise guy are ya?   Nyuck, Nyuck, Nyuck.

Better think of a few more questions to ask her, but I guess it doesn't matter since she's supposedly moving up here.  Now let me see...  she'll be coming on a visa that doesn't allow her to work and she admits she'll go nuts if she doesn't have anything to do.  She's all yours, but you are not romantically involved.

Ok, lets all pitch in on the creative writing.
Story A: She gets here, drains you financially, drives you crazy with pseudomystical BS and has legal issues from getting arrested buying drugs.
Story B: She gets here, after 2 or 3 months of being like your friend Al Bundy you mentioned in a previous post, you "want what's coming to you".  You get arrested, blame here call her a big ole shark and warn everyone here about everyone in the entire country of her origin.
Story C: She gets here, she's pregnant, now you get to wonder why you have a 8 1/2 lb. premature baby.
Story D: She gets here, little miss conservative really does want to turn you into Ricky Martin.  You anguish over your future being treated like a cellmate.
Story E: She gets here, you never have sex.  Thanks for the hotel room, gringo.
Story F: She gets here, you have a lot of sex.  I mean really a lot, because that's what she's used to.  You need to strap a board to your ass to keep from falling in.  You wonder why all her friends are men and why she doesn't come home some nights.

Now if you find these not funny just think what reality will be like.  I imagine it's hard to know because it sounds like you really don't know don't know her well enough.  What do you want to do to increase your chances for success?

Most of what mck has said, has TRAIN WRECK written all over it. Now his Spanish fluency is down to 50%. What is FIFTY PERCENT FLUENCY? Is it when you understand every other word?

My favorites.....Story C & F....ROTFLMAO!!!!!

Do not walk, run dude run.
You need to read some of the stories here to understand.
If this were reversed would you take her money? Probably not, because your intentions are good.

mck,

I can handle a few character flaws, but if my woman was hallucinating, I would do a U-turn. And if she said "don't worry, honey. I was just doing acid", that wouldn't be too comforting either. Personally, I prefer the drug-free ladies.

She said that she wants to do missionary work, doesn't want your money, etc. Just because she says the right things doesn't mean she'll do them. Actions speak louder than words. Has she done volunteer work in the past? Does she plan to do acid while she's doing missionary work? The two don't seem to go together. I would focus on her actions more than her words.

I hope it works out, but your lady may at least get nominated for the best actress oscar. I hope I'm wrong.
At least take it more slowly.

Ross

About 10 messages down you posted "she owns property, has money in the bank and has documentation she has a job"

Say, why doesn't she use some of the MONEY she earned on her JOB while living at the property she OWNS to pay off the $300 credit card bill? Then YOU won't have to pay it off for her! What a concept!

She does own property, her father bought for her. She does have money in the bank "her parents money" and she does have a job "on paper" This is to pass the interview for the tourist visa lol. Her family has money. She "does not"

Mck,

I usually do not give my opinions or thoughts in response to posts.  But, something stands out a little strange to me. So maybe you can clarify it for me.  You mentioned the gal you are writing/calling is into mysticism, spiritualism etc.  This would fit under the category of occult practices. Then, tonight, you mentioned she has a desire to be a missionary.  These two belief systems are diametrically oppossed (an antithesis) to one another.  How can this be?

I think it all sounds pretty enlightened. Imagine, she as missionary could bring hallucinogens and yoga to lost tribes along the Orinoco.

ummm yoga and metaphysics is hardly occult practices. This is pure ignorance on your part my friend. Yoga and metaphysics are postivive things and occult things are negative. Maybe you should do your own research.

I hold degrees in Religion and Theology.  So, I differ with your interpretation.  But seriously, can one really be a missionary in, say, yoga, meditation?  I have never heard the term used in reference to anything outside the Judeo-Christian belief system.
I really wish you well in your search for a compatible spouse.
