I found yet another agency in Brazil Everyone knows about BrazilGirls -- great site if all you want to do is look at pictures and stare.... not so hot if you are wanting to actually MEET someone, though. BrazilRomance is a better site... but a very small selection of ladies. I wanted to have them help me set up some appointments while I was there, and they wanted $50 per date, even if I provided the lady's contact information. In Russia, they'll do it for $15 per meeting. Cali is what... $100 a day, something like that? So, $50 for a simple meeting seemed really high. I ran into a new site: www.firepassion.com They have a pretty good selection of ladies, but better yet they have been very good about answering questions and trying to asssist me on my trip. And, they have an "office" in Sao Paulo. (BrazilGirls has an "office" in Miami... and they can't do you anything more than simply sell you addresses.) So far, so good. I will let you know what my final experience is with Fire & Passion, but so far they have been very forthright, and I am optimistic... Well, I was hoping to report that I had finally found a good agency in Brazil. No such luck. I will say this again one time: NO ONE IN BRAZIL HAS A CLUE ABOUT HOW TO RUN A GOOD AGENCY! And they don't want to learn, either. I have never met such a group of proud and arrogant "agency owners" who weren't willing to help AT ALL! BrazilianRomance wants $100 PER MEETING to set up meetings with a lady. You would think, then, that their women were supermodels or something...but no such thing. Look at their site!!! Just TRY and find THREE women who you would want to meet. AAARRRGH! Can you tell I am frustrated? Now I know why everyone goes to Colombia... OK... Looks like here's the deal: You go to BrazilGrils. They are a lousy agency, but a good catalog. Just know what you're getting. Buy 100 names. At least they give quantity discounts. Write the ones that are in the geographic area you are interested in. Narrow it down, and go. You're on your own. There is no agency to help you. Good news: It's actually pretty cheap. Even with the purchase of 100 names, you're not paying much. No agency fees on top of it. And, American has direct flights there from DFW (which for me is great!) Bad news, you need to plan in advance. It takes a few weeks to get a letter to Brazil and back. Also, as I mentioned before, the ladies get LOTS of letters. My good news: I have a lady who I am so interested in, I would go down there just to meet her, anyway. To he!l with the agencies! Oh... she was listed on BrazilGirls, in case anyone was interested. If I were in a hurry, and I didn't have my trip paid for me, I think I would skip Brazil. I just can't believe that NO ONE has set up a good agency there yet. If I do marry a Brazilian, I think I'll finance someone in her family to start one.... Title: $100 A POP?????????? $90 rebate? Sure... But the lady probaby gets it. Or maybe they split it 50/50... who knows? I'm not making it up. Go to their website. They're so proud of that price that THEY POST IT! Funny thing... Solange... the person who runs the agency, thought that by referencing that figure, I would come to my senses. Because they were offering me the "deal" of doing it for $50 per meeting. Amazing... I told them that if they can get $100 per meeting to go right ahead. But they won't get it from me. What kills me is... no one is paying that.... right? Yesterday, on one of the free sites, in response to a profile that said I was looking for a "mature, educated, latina, perfer a triguena" I got an email from a 22yo Russian woman, complete with white skin and yellow hair, pictures included....biggest set of ... well, let's just say they were both about to fall out of that night gown she's almost wearing. She had "carefully studied my profile" and she just KNEW that we would be a very good match etc. etc.....anyway, she wanted to get real serious, real fast and guess what? She actualy PERFERS men my age (I'm 51)....yeah, what ever....oh, only one minor problem, you have to PAY $64 to join her agency before you can answer her email. (The poor little thing doesn't have her own computer and has to have them send and receive all her email, so she says.) Say, what you bet if I forward her pics and intro letter to some guys on the Russian board that she might get some takers? I can't imagine anyone paying $100 per meeting. Especially since they make it clear that they are only doing the introductions. The lady might not even stay for Dinner!!! I get the sense that no one really is trying in Brazil. I don't know why... But there is a vacuum there that SOMEONE ought to fill... Title: There're guys trying..... there just not using these so-called agencies. I know a crew of guys, who are in Brazil right now. They're spending some time in Rio for carnival, in addition to visiting a few other cities in Brazil. The SOB's are having so much fun, they almost forgot to report what's happening...(LOL). From their early reports....CARNIVAL IS OFF THE HOOK!!!! They report that the women are fine, with skin, eye & hair combinations for all taste. The quest is completely different in Brazil, as opposed to Colombia. In Brazil, you're pretty much on your own. No check that "YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN". "Abrutha" who post here & who has visited Brazil a number of times, has posted his observations on the social scene there. ANYONE going to Brazil should definitely read his post, before going. Yep, That's pretty much it. From what I have gathered: On the plus side: Brazilian women are freindly, and approachable. On the minus side: They need to be, cause no one is gonna introduce you I'll post my trip report when I get back... Promise. I think the owners of Fire and Passion,Brian and Chrissy,live in southern California.I don't know how often they are in Brazil or who staffs the Sao Paulo office.It seems like a very part time operation.I have never heard any feedback from anyone who has actuially used them. From what little I know... Sao Paulo is "New York" in Brazil, so the women there have a tendency to be more educated, and have better access to the internet, etc, etc. They also have adopted a more "modern" approach to life in general... North, the women will probably not speak English as much, but they will be more "traditional", and will have seen fewer Gringos. The lady I am going to see in Sao Paulo laughed when I told her that I would stick out in Brazil. She told me: "Not until you talk. In Sao Paulo it is a melting pot. In Brasilia, you would stick out." So, it is all, really a matter of taste. If you wish to have a letter-writing correspondance followed by a trip to meet "just one" -- but at the same time, have very little competition... then Northern Brazil is probably your best bet. If you like to have a lot of exchanges via email... then you need to stick near the major cities, as a rule. BTW, the guys at firepassion.com got a huge kick out of my question: "How far is too far?" when trying to decide what women to write to. Their response was: "You're going to travel 7000 miles to meet a woman, and then worry if one of them is too far? WHat is too far when you've already travelled 7000 miles?" They have a valid point... I would like to correspond with a few ladies (preferably in the same area) and then meet them. I understand that i would have a better chance at meeting a less materialistic, woman that would be more willing to leave the country to start a life of better quality for her and her children in the North Eastern Part of Brasil, but the selection seems slim... I would rather have more selection because I'm sure out of 20-30 picks it would only narrow down to 2-3. Are these women of Sao Paulo, and Porto Alegre who have good lives and caerers, willing to leave there beautiful country? If i were less interested in DarkerColored Women would I be better of South? Are the women with good careers willing to leave them? Who knows? I don't think they know. My impression is that the women of Brazil are much less "desperate" and will only be willing to leave for the right guy. That is part of what attracts me to them. They do, however, still dream of a romantic man. The theme (from the women who are on the agencys) seems to be she wants a man who is not so in love with his own machismo, and who will love her and treat her with respect... For the approach you want to take (which is very similar to the one I would take) stick with a major city and write several, then go over to meet them. South Brazil is going to have all kinds of women. If you decide to go the BrazilGirls.com route, then go through the catalog, and buy 100 names. Of those maybe 20 will be from the areas you want. (No, they don't list the areas before you buy the names!) Write to these and from 100 to start with, you'll probably only have 6-8 in the end. Be aware though that the pretty ones are flooded with letters. The one lady that I am going to see tells me that every day she gets 10-15 letters. So, be prepared to wait for your initial responses. Firepassion.com is running a tour/social in April I think. You might consider that. I am still unsure of the area to focus on, but I think I may want to just take a trip with no expectations to S.Brasil. (I'm thinking Porto alegre). It would be nice to have some communication with a few ladies before i go. If you have any from that area that you could send me I would be very grateful. I'm 32 and am searching for 20-28. It seems that the Brazilian women tend to be very skeptical in the beginning also. I was always asked do I have a girlfriend. I had one tell me that most women think that Brazilian men are beautiful but they just don't want to settle down or have family. She told me that she lived with one guy for five years and he would maybe stay one night then he would go see another woman. She says a lot of women are sick of them but they also don't see that their friendliness causes the men to play around. I don't think they are in a hurry to leave their country and cold weather is not something they want to relocate to, but if you can sweep one off her feet than anything is possible. If some of these women have friends who are happily married in America then more may be willing to give it a try. The northern regions tend to be poorer and more women may be willing to leave. Brazils economy has had problems the last few years and some women may be wanting to leave. Also while exploring the internet for info on Brazil I found some info on Rio. Be very careful of women who seem to have that perfect body. It seems that a lot of men have had sex changes to become women. Most are prostitutes but you never know when one might decide to find a foreign husband. So those taller women with perfect breast may not be what your looking for. A few posts down I commented about the traditional latina in Cali not having plastic surgery like Californians thinking of the traditional women. Thanks to the guys who mentioned that their are many women who have had surgery in Cali. If even a third of the women on the site were serious about leaving Brazil for the right man. We'd be reading about some success stories here. I agree with you. In my case, of course, my trip to Brazil is being paid for, which makes it even better. The two things about Cali that it has in its favor (without discussin which has better women... lol.. since that is an argument with no winners!) 1. Better agencies to assist you If you have to learn another language, Portuguese only helps you in Brazil. Spanish seems to have more applicability. That being said, there's just something about the Brazilian women that DOES keep me interested... I haven't spoken to any Colombians but the Brazilians on the phone always want kisses. They get angry if you don't kiss them. It is funny if you don't give them enough they ask what is wrong you don't like me. I do believe if you find your love you will be very happy with a Brazilian. I have heard from all sorts of sources about the Brazilian affections. I have not yet experienced it first hand... but in a few weeks, I'll have something to report. Of course... if it's REALLY good... I probably won't report anything!!! So, if I go away... you'll know to suspect the best! |
