Title: Latin women and nudity Post by: Goliath on December 22, 2002, 05:00:00 AM I started watching Univision today, trying to get back to understanding regular spanish (at full speed). Anyway, I couldn't believe the numbers of women on every show that were at least 1/2 naked. Why is this? I always thought Mexicans (I think that's where Univ is based)were more conservative than that. The hispanic women I've known in my life (20 or so) have all dressed well but not really "sexy". Can anyone explain?

Univision is based out of Miami. I believe Univision has so much programming from Mexico because Mexican-Americans outnumber all the other Latin-American nationalities here in the U.S. My theory on why you see "the numbers of women on every show that were at least 1/2 naked" is that Univision wants to draw male viewers. Univision's primetime programming is dominated by telenovelas - basically, television for women. Title: They're trying to explain it to me.
