Most ex-pats tell me the same thing, they have a love-hate relationship with the Phils Title: Re: Interesting story by a female ex-pat Post by: Jay on October 06, 2004, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Interesting story by a female ex-pat , posted by don2222 on Oct 6, 2004
[This message has been edited by Jay] Hi Don, "Most ex-pats tell me the same thing, they have a love-hate relationship with the Phils." Not like this woman. Hers sounds alot more like hate, than love, to me. She should move IMO. Take Care, Title: Interesting story by a female ex-pat Post by: Nathan on October 10, 2004, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Interesting story by a female ex-pat..., posted by Jay on Oct 6, 2004
I have observed over the years and countries that women in general do not travel as well as men, especially in third world countries. I cannot imagine that most American or western European women would much care for life in the Philippines, especially since it would tend to make them feel SO REPLACEABLE. Sounds like she really "hates" being thought of as American. Hopefully she will get back to jolly ole England someday. I'll bet she hates being referred to as the very people she labeled as "Yanks!" Title: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Interesting story by a female ex-pat Post by: senior citizen on October 12, 2004, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Re: Re: Re: Interesting story by a f..., posted by Rota20 on Oct 10, 2004
I have noticed that a lot of Caucasians despise being referred to as Americans. Canadians sew maple leaves all over everything they own. Brits have Union Jacks all over their backpacks and such. Hard to confuse French and Germans with Americans even if they keep their mouths shut, so they don't act as rabid about it. Canadians seem the most offended about it, though. |
