Title: Police clearance Post by: danpili on October 18, 2004, 04:00:00 AM I wonder if any one else has had this problem.
My Fiance has passed her interview but was told she needed " Good Conduct Report" from Malaysia because she had worked there. the bad news is that she was told it would take 1 to 3 months. has anyone else had to do this , and if so How long did it take ? thanks, danpili Title: Welcome to P-L! Hi dan, welcome to the forum! Now we have two carpenters in the Portland area. I guess they must have changed the rules, because when my wife got her visa in 2001, she wasn’t required to get a police clearance from Malaysia. She worked there for 4 years, but Malaysia was one of the countries specifically listed by the State Dept where police clearances were not available or required. I guess 9-11 has changed that... Where is your fiancée from? Ray Title: Re: Police clearance Post by: Jimbo on October 18, 2004, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Police clearance, posted by danpili on Oct 18, 2004
My wife's report from Singapore took 3 weeks or more. She requested the report at the Singapore embassy in Hong Kong. Singapore responded asking for more info on why she needed it (I think they didn't know what a K-1 visa was). She went back to the embassy and responded with a more lengthy explanation and the report came along soon after that. Jim |
