Title: Introduction
Post by: Jeff P on March 27, 2001, 05:00:00 AM
I haven't posted much here, so let me introduce myself. I've been lurking on this board for about a year and half. I've posted a few times, but not very often. I started writing to filipina's around the same time I found this board. I've really learned a lot from everyone here, and appreciate everyone sharing their experiences. I narrowed my search down to 2 ladies around January of last year, and just returned visiting one of them in January, when we became engaged.
My experience during my trip is a little different than most. I've noticed most guys tend to write (and visit) ladies from The Visayas.
Well, the lady I went to visit (yes, I only visited one. But I DID have a back-up in case things didn't work out) is from Ilocos Sur, which is about 8 hours (by bus) north of Manila. It isn't a normal tourist destination, so like I said, my experience is a little different than most. I spent my entire trip (3 weeks) in Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte.
I'll break this down into several posts, as I have time, so please  bear with me.

Thanks for listening to me ramble,

Jeff P.

Hi Jeff,

Welcome, It would be nice to hear a story of somebody on Luzon! It would be a change of pace from the usual Cebu and "point's further south" stories. :) (just kidding folk's, I like ALL the stories) My wife is from Luakan, Baguio. Not too far from there.

Post away!

Jay

Hi Jeff,

All of these Jeffs are getting me confused. ;o) It does seem like a lot of ladies are from the Visayas. Many of the married or engaged Filipinas, seem to be from Butuan City. I have no idea why. I eagerly await your trip report. The differences in your posts should be interesting.
