"Yoi O-toshio" to you! (I checked with my students and staff, and "Omedeto gozaimasu" {what men often say} is said after the new year begins.) Other variations: Akemasite omedeto gozaimasu. O-shogatsu omedeto gozaimasu. Kickin' back, enjoying too much nomi-hodai at the bonenkai, waiting for the shinnenkai to start. :-) Think of me when you are enjoying your osechi, otoso, and karami-mochi. Ja mata ne!
