Title: 29yo PI girl would like a American husband Post by: wsbill on December 22, 2002, 05:00:00 AM Some of my navy friends recently introduced me to a 29year old PI girl. She came over on a marriage/tourist visa and the guy that sponsored her kicked her out of the house, from all appearance she seems to be just a average girl... She can cook, etc...
The guy that brought her over lives in Jackson Tenn., had brought over another one about a year before and got married and then had it annulled. I do not know why he has rejected her. She seems like a pretty nice girl...not overly beautiful or high maintenance. The PI ladies in Jackson, TN found her to be a warm and caring your lady. He did fly over twice to meet with this young lady and did the whole K1 Visa process and now he has backed out. (I do not believe he even bought a round trip ticket). Here is her photo that I took of her. She is 29 years old, 5'2", never married. Does have family in Indiana and Aruba and of course the PI. Her Tourist Visa ends in Febuary,. http://www.geocities.com/wsbill
You can e-mail me directly wsbill@nospam.com If you'd like to meet this girl, she's been in the states since Aug. I have yet to see her all 'dolled up'. The photos I took were a first time, quick and informal meeting. Lord, knows what she'd look like in a short skirt and heels! sounds like the guy is using foreign women just to get laid for a while, and then kick them out, what a jerk. hopefully she wont lose her tourist visa if she used a k1 visa. and it stinks because these Pinays who got scammed don't go to forums like this to vent. Surigao Ken and the poster above have to do it for one of them. Too bad we only hear of one side of the coin. I volunteer for the Fil-Am community outreach here and knows of many scams like this. Maybe I should tell them to log in and tell their story. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. you would be suprised on how many men do it, bring a girl here for a few months, get tired of her because she is is tired of cooking, cleaning, washing your crusty underwear and putting up with lousy sex, when you want it, and not her. if you have a lot of money, its not that big of a deal to go through the INS paperwork. A lot cheaper and a lot less hassle. I'll agree there are plenty of bizarre and strange looking men going to the Philippines for a wife/maid/sex slave. Maybe they think a filipina will put up with it but they are in for a rude awakening! Did you ever wonder why a cute young filipina would marry a fat bald weirdo in the first place??????? ....I don't think that meeting someone else other than the person who originally filed for her fiance visa will do her much good as far as the INS is concerned. I believe that she has to return tho the Philippines if the original intended marriage never happens. He did not say she is here on a k1 , she is here on a tourist visa, though that expires in less than 2 months, then she will have to go back. Curious though, i would like my gf to get a tourist visa to come here, but supposedly they are for 30 days only, yet i see a lot of them who get 6 months somehow. Title: Yes, but look even closer... Actually, he said that she came over on a “marriage/tourist visa”, whatever that is, and the guy “did the whole K1 Visa process”. Makes absolutely no sense to me. If it was a K-1, then Nathan is correct. She can only stay if she marries the sponsor, nobody else. Besides, it sure looks like there is a motive to marry real fast, to anyone available…(?) :-) Ray Title: Re: I have no idea what kind of a visa she has Post by: wsbill on December 22, 2002, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Yes, but look even closer..., posted by Ray on Dec 22, 2002
I thought the K1 was good for 90 days, so it must be a tourist visa. As she did say worked as a travel agent. Naturally, she would have to return to purge herself of the whole gov't process. Before she could start all over again.. My post was intended toward guys who might find this girl interesting to meet and get to know her. It's alot cheaper right now to get to know someone verses spending alot of dough and going over. ==== Title: I agree Post by: Ray on December 22, 2002, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: I have no idea what kind of a visa s..., posted by wsbill on Dec 22, 2002
When someone comes over on a K-1 visa, it is customary to purchase a one-way ticket because the assumption is that she will be staying after marriage. If things don’t work out and the marriage is called off, then I agree that the sponsor has a moral obligation to make sure she gets home safely. If she has been here since August and her visa expires in February, then I see what you mean about the tourist visa because the K-1 is only good for 90 days and cannot be extended. But if she came over on a tourist visa, then it sounds like there might have been no solid commitment to marriage and there is technically no sponsor for a tourist visa. Did you get the impression that she was stranded and needed transportation home? The Philippine consulate would be the people to contact for assistance in that area. There is nothing wrong with a guy meeting her while she is here legally, but I would normally recommend that a he not get romantically involved with someone who could very well be looking for a way to extend her stay permanently before her visa runs out. Technically, she could marry someone else while she was here on a tourist visa and probably get her status adjusted to that of legal resident, but I imagine that a lot of guys got burnt in similar situations. She does have a nice smile though. Are you in the active Naval Reserve? I guess there is a real good possibility of getting called up, so I wish you luck. I am pretty sure the law was changed after 9/11 and if she wants to change status, from tourist or student to married or fiance', she has to go back to country of origin and start the whole shebang all over again. I do not think she can simply petition to change status and stay. I don't know that the law has changed in this area, but I agree that adjustment of status isn't as easy as it used to be. Once the tourist/student is married to a U.S. citizen, they have a legal basis for requesting permanent residency but that doesn't necessarily mean that they won't have to leave the country and go through the normal procedure of requesting a spousal visa. I would say that this situation is definitely one that needs the assistance of an immigration attorney. I'm ready to go... Though, if they call me up - I will definately go ahead and stay roughly 10 more years and get that retirement. Ain't too many good deals like that anymore in this economy, just tac on E6 just the other day. That's another good thing about the Philippines. A lot of retired military people live very comfortably over there on their retired pay and Social Security. But since the U.S. military pulled out, they can't take advantage of the "free" medical care without leaving the country. Ray |
