Title: Having a baby Post by: Bear on August 18, 2002, 04:00:00 AM On Thursday we went in to the doctor for what was considered our "1st visit" although we had had several trips there and phone calls already due to Honey's situation. Got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Nice and strong and fast. But....
Honey has lost a lot of weight, down to 88#'s. They put her on an IV and scheduled her for daily IV's at home for the next week. It seems her nausea and vomiting has dehydrated her somewhat. But I guess the one IV worked or whatever was really the problem has abated because she is feeling better, not nauseated and eating much better. We took the opportunity to travel to San Marcus and San Antonio. Visted Old Town San Marcos, drive around on the Old River Road near Canyon Lake Dam (wish we could have tubed the river), Natural Bridge Caverns, Riverwalk Mall and the IMAX of the Alamo there, and the Alamo itself. Ended the evening with a boat ride on the river and a romantic riverside dinner at Los Cocus. Wore the poor girl out completely - she's still sleeping. We intend to use the Labor Day weekend to travel to Alabama to visit Jona and Glenn who Honey and I meet through Mag-Anak while still in Davao. I think that will probably be the end of her traveling until the end of the pregnancy. We'll try to add pictures to Honey's Homepage. The quest to pick a name has been difficult. If its a boy my name will be used. But if its a girl... So far every name we come up with the other dislikes. If the name is one that she knows from an acquiatencance she will not use it so they do not think she named the girl after them. I have even made up names and had her say she knew someone by that name? I say how will they ever know? I do not want to use names that have already been used in our families, I'd like something more unique. Bear and Honey Title: Try this name... Since it is a girl's name you seek, how about Cinnamon? Cute, distinctive, feminine and it is a color phase of bears. She would also have a pretty good song ready-made for her. "Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young. "I could be happy, for the rest of my life, with a Cinnamon Girl." Don (PS: I think it is a good idea too. -VICKY) Title: I'm surprised no one suggested "Cub" (n/t) Post by: Jeff S on August 20, 2002, 04:00:00 AM Title: Re: Having a baby Post by: Jay on August 19, 2002, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Having a baby, posted by Bear on Aug 18, 2002
