Title: Why so much Ukraine emphasis? Post by: Louvan on January 09, 2005, 05:00:00 AM Hi everybody,
I have just joined the forum so I am kind of new at this. One of the things I realize though is the fact that even though this is an East Eauropean or FSU board, most posts concentrate on Ukrainian women. Is there a reason for this? Are Ukrainian women on average kinder, more beautiful, and receptive than women in Russia, Belarus, and other FSU republics? Are they perhaps more "domestic" and family oriented? Are the people in general more friendly? Title: Re: Why ... Post by: WmGo on January 10, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Why so much Ukraine emphasis?, posted by Louvan on Jan 9, 2005

[This message has been edited by Bobby Orr] Since Ukraine is a relatively small country it is a little easier to travel to a few places in a single trip. So, that makes it easier to see women in multiple cities without paying through the nose for most Americans and Europeans. In my opinion Russians and Ukrainians are equally friendly to Americans and I have never been to Belarus - but the ability to get out of Ukraine for these girls is in their mindset ie. it is not a fantasy like it is for most Russian girls (except for the relatively few regions / cities in Russia where many girls have gone to the USA / West). It seems more Ukrainian girls have gone to the USA and with it, more girls know other girls and they see it as a realistic possibility to get out. Then again, I suspect there are also more scammers in Ukraine, due to the same snowballing effect. Economically, I am not certain things are worse for the girls in Ukraine than Russia - I suppose it is all region / city specific as far as who is better off etc. One can find richer and poorer in each country - though over all things are extremely depressed in both countries in comparison to the West. When you're in America, just about every country is small. Some of the places you Europeans call countries is truly amazing. I suppose that you can call Germany and France countries, even though they're pretty tiny. If you're feeling imaginative, I guess you could call Italy a country, even though it is pretty small. However, you guys take it a step further. Can you really call Denmark a country? Come on, get real. My parents' backyard is bigger than Denmark and they don't even try to call it a city. Some of them, though, are completely over the top. You call SWITZERLAND a country??? You have to be kidding! When I've been very sick, I've sneezed up pieces of snot bigger than Switzerland! What is the definition of a country/nation? A nation has it's own language, a common history, common values and an identity. You americans don't even have your own language. You have adopted an European language. Your history is short compared to for instance Danmark. Your nations is divided as few other countries. You have an identity as Americans, but for that identity is quite different from a person living in Texas compared to one in New England. The US is a union of different states which differ rather much from each other. The only original American branch of art is jazz music, and that is higher appreciated here in Europe than in the US. Bandit, you should know. It's not the size that matters, but what you make out of it ;-). Haroshij Title: Re: Re: Sigh, you Europeans... America as the Republic----which is what it was founded as is an association of separate countries. Each state is a separate country. Socialism has tried to erase that fact by the gradual erasure/revision of history and the proclamation of America being "one" nation. The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is a corporation. Most people are too stupid to know the difference. Socialist policies have as made this once strong Republic into one of the worlds biggest debtor corporations. It has happened over a long period of time. The first major step away from the Constitutional Republic came in 1861. The changes have been clandestine for the most part. The communist agenda really got a big boost in 1913 and again in 1933. Thru various acts, statutes, executive decisions, etc. all these things have come to pass. Most people refuse to believe what has went on or that we are a communist nation. It is so clear, if they would only open their eyes. The last big thing is that most of us own guns and that is a big deterrent to the communist agenda. Even now children are being taught that people who have guns are to be suspect of wrong doing. The whole process went just as easy as putting a frog into a pot of cool water on the stove and very gradually heating the water to the boiling point. The frog will never recognize what has happened until it is too late. Title: Do you know the European country... Dear lynn, socialism is not only about freedom... what i can say is that USA is capitalist, Europa is socialist and FSU communist... socialism is a mix of communism and capitalism... USA is not social... the state don't take care a lot about the right to free education ( your university are almost the best but they are very expensive )... and about pension, minimum income when you loose your job, and about hospital insurance... In Europa, we pay a lot of tax... myself, i give 14.5% of my income for social security, 35% of the income for tax of state, 21% tax on each product buy... The state with all these money help citizen... for pension, for almost free medical help, for free education, for a minimum income when loose job... same somebody who have never work have a minimum income !!! All this exist in America but it is a very minimum of you need to pay private insurance enough expensive... only for people with very good income... The first time i have visit USA, i was surprise by the very low level of life from some people... in America, you have succes and you have all... of you have no chance and you are nothing... middle class people are almost not existing. And about freedom in FSU, it is almost the same that in our country... the ex-KGB is not so much actieve that before :-))) ... Full freedom cannot exist because it is always some people who go profit of the freedom... Law block our freedom but they are needed... Title: Re: USA ... socialist country !!! "socialism is not only about freedom..." You are way off base. I never said that socialism is about freedom. Socialism is about control. In this nation which was started based on "Christian" principals --- people were free and the government was under their control. Now in this nation the lives of the people are under the control of the government and no one citizen owns anything --- not their house, not their car, not their churches, not their children, not even their own bodies. Why should there be a need for the "state" to help people --- other than some sort of disaster relief? Biblically speaking, a person who will not work should not eat. Socialism is a doctrine of : Make us your slaves, but feed us. The very first colonies here were socialist --- they nearly starve to death --- many did. When the land in the colonies was divided and the people were made to be responsible for themselves there was plenty. As long as there is a free ride there will be those who choose to do nothing and let those who work for their living support them --- willingly or not. Socialist programs have made fools of people well able to work and support themselves, I see it all the time. And yes it is very much like the United Soviet Socialist Republic. When you are controled... you loose your freedom !!! And what have christian and bible make to this... i am believer but don't mix "politic" and "religion"... the result can be very bad... remember the inquisition period in Europa... and the problem in some muslim country now... Below, i join the definition from Socialism, communism and capitalism... and i don't "lie", it is from wordenbook... And control have nothing to make with these 3 method of society... Why help of state is needed... for give the same right to everybody... you have maybe a lot of chance in your life but think to the other... Imagine that you are a young man from a family with low income... no school because it is expensive, bad job because you have not a high qualification, bad pension because you was not pay a lot, ... Socialism don't say that you don't need work... in our country, you receive a minimum income if you have no work but if you loose you work because you have make some error, nothing... and if you refuse a new work, nothing... you need to work but if something bad happen and that you are not responsible, the state help you. I call this solidarity... Socialism : Communism: Capitalism : Title: Re: what have you smoke !!! If you knew what you were talking about when it comes to the USA this might be a meaningful dialog, but you do not. You have no true concept of freedom or what it really means. No offence intended. [This message has been edited by LP] Bruno, you need to understand Lynn isn't your typical American. He's enlightened in many ways (sometimes a little too enlightened) and most Americans couldn't keep up with him even if they wanted to. For a foreigner to try is futile. You'd need to have information, knowledge, and a perspective most Americans don't possess. As such there is simply no point in he and you debating these kinds of issues because it'd be near impossible to reach an agreement. Not to mention it's off topic for the board. Nor can a foreigner understand the concept of American liberty as it applies to privacy. Americans will not readily accept (at least they didn't at one time) a reduction in liberty or privacy in the name of security. It's abhorrent to every thing America stands for, or at least used to stand for. I normally stay out of political discussions but anyone who has bothered to read the 9-11 Commission's report is a bit more informed that the masses who didn't. You have read it haven't you? You know, the commission Bush and company did everything they could to prevent from being formed and later tried to undermine it's investigation into why 9/11 was allowed to happen in the first place? The commission that never would have been formed if it wasn't for pressure from the victim's familes? Why is it I get the feeling you, like many, simply couldn't be bothered to learn the truth? Anyone who has read it knows just how outrageous Dubya's running on an anti-terrorism platform really was. He and the top level people in his administration should have been jailed for gross negligence shortly after the dust settled at the WTC. That 51% has doomed us all. I only hope when the time comes to pay (and it surely will) the 51% will have more backbone than their candidate and admit their mistake. Those of them that survive at least. Until then I leave you with these thoughts. They're not all my words but they reflect the other 49%, the ones being ignored by Bush as he shamefully and with typical arrogance continues to claim the election results validate his actions: God Bless America...We’re gonna need it. They say that in life you get what you deserve. Well, America has deservedly gotten a lawless cowboy to lead it further into carnage and isolation and the unreserved contempt of most of the world. This once-great country has pulled up its drawbridge for another four years and stuck a finger up to the billions of those forced to share the same planet. And in doing so, it has shown itself to be a fearful, backward-looking and small nation. This should have been the day when Americans finally answered their critics by raising their eyes from their own sidewalks and looking outward towards the rest of humanity. But then the horrible, inevitable truth hit home. They had somehow managed to re-elect the most devious, incompetent and reckless leader ever put before them. The Yellow Rogue of Texas. A self-serving, dim-witted, draft-dodging, gung-ho little rich boy, whose idea of courage is to yell: "I feel good," as he unleashes a fury which slaughters 100,000 innocents for no other reason than greed and vanity. A dangerous chameleon, his charming exterior provides cover for a power-crazed clique of Doctor Strangeloves whose goal is to increase America's grip on the world's economies and natural resources. And in foolishly backing him those 51% have given the go-ahead for more unilateral pre-emptive strikes, more world instability, and most certainly another 9/11. To them I simply ask: Have you learned nothing? Do you despise your own image that much? Do you care so little about the world beyond your shores? How could you do this to yourselves? How appalling must one man's record at home and abroad be for you to reject him? Kerry wasn't the best presidential candidate the Democrats have ever fielded but at least he understood the complexity of the world outside America, and domestic disgraces like the 45 million of his fellow citizens without health cover. He would have done something to make the country fairer and re-connected it with the wider world. Instead America chose a man without morals or vision. An economic incompetent who inherited a $2 billion surplus, gave it in tax cuts to the rich and turned the US into the world's largest debtor nation. A man who sneers at the rights of other nations. Who has withdrawn from international treaties on the environment and chemical weapons. A man who flattens states then hands the rebuilding contracts to his own billionaire party backers. America has chosen a menacingly immature buffoon who likened the pursuit of the 9/11 terrorists to a Wild West, Wanted Dead or Alive manhunt and, during the Afghanistan war, kept a baseball scorecard in his drawer, notching up hits when news came through of enemy deaths. A radical Christian fanatic who decided the world was made up of the forces of good and evil, who invented a war on terror, and thus as author of it, believed he had the right to set the rules of engagement. Which translates into telling his troops to do what the hell they want to the bad guys as he has at Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib and countless towns across Iraq. One has to feel sorry for the millions in the big cities like New York, Washington, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco who voted to kick him out. These are the sophisticated side of the electorate who recognise a babbon when they see one. As for the ones who put him in, across the Bible Belt and the South, we can only feel pity. Any rational person would feel deep anger, not only at them returning Bush to power but for allowing the outside world to lump us all into the same category of moronic muppets. The self-righteous, gun-totin', military lovin', sister marryin', abortion-hatin', gay-loathin', foreigner-despisin', non-passport ownin' red-necks, who believe God gave America the biggest dick in the world so it could urinate on the rest of us and make their land "free and strong". These are the people who hijack the word patriot and liken compassion to child-molesting. They are unknowingly bin Laden's chief recruiting officers. Al-Qaeda's existence is fuelled by the outpourings of America's Christian right. Bush is its commander-in-chief. He and bin Laden need each other to survive. Both need to play Lex Luther to each others' Superman with their own fanatical people. Maybe that's why the mightiest military machine ever assembled has failed to catch the world's most wanted man. Or is the reason simply that America is incompetent? That behind the bluff they are frightened and clueless, which is why they've stayed with the devil they know. The lines for hours to register a vote; the 17,000 lawyers needed to ensure there was no cheating; the $1.2 billion wasted by parties trying to discredit the enemy; the allegations of fraud, intimidation and dirty tricks; the exit polls which were so wildly inaccurate; an Electoral College voting system that makes the Eurovision Song Contest look like a beacon of democracy and efficiency; and the delays and the legal wrangles in announcing the victor. Yet America would have us believe theirs is the finest democracy in the world. Well, that fine democracy has got the man it deserved. But is America safer today? The questions facing America are how many more thousands of their sons will die as Iraq descends into a new Vietnam. And how many more Vietnams are on the horizon now they have given Bush the mandate to go after Iran, Syria, North Korea or Cuba. And I wonder how Bush's "good friend" Putin feels about his so called mandate to spread "liberty" throught the world? Today is a sad day for us all, but it's even sadder for the millions of intelligent Americans embarrassed by a gung-ho leader and backed by a banal electorate, half of whom still believe Saddam Hussein was behind 9/11. We had the chance to show the world a better way, instead we made a thuggish cowboy ride off into the sunset bathed in glory. God Help us. So what is one to say about today? To the horror of its well-wishers across the world the United States, once the “last, best hope of mankind”, is re-inaugurating the worst president in its history; one who has exploited an attack, the success of which its own incompetence helped enable, in order to execute an extremist agenda that is killing thousands, costing trillions and leaving all of us far more insecure than when it began. Before November 2, we could argue it was all a mistake; the guy ran as a “compassionate conservative,” misrepresented his record, and we actually voted for Gore anyway. It took the Republicans on the Supreme Court (two of whom were appointed by the guy’s dad) to stick the country with this regime filled with ideological fanatics and corrupt incompetents. But that was all before Nov 2. Now, what are we to say? Fifty-nine million members of our nation do not mind that we were deliberately misled into a war that has drained our blood and treasure to create nothing but hatred and chaos; and that the very people who were at fault have been rewarded and promoted, encouraged to look for new targets to spread their hubristic malevolence. It defies all logic and truthfully, my ability to explain or even fully understand it. One thing is for certain: based on an virtually unanimous unwillingness to consider its past mistakes and learn from them, things are going to get far, far worse before they get better. Thousands more will die. Trillions more will be squandered. Millions more will grow to hate and revile the name of the United States of America and prepare to attack us in ways for which our government is resolutely unwilling to prepare, all the while continuing to ignore it's own intelligence agencies who're clearly stating the probable outcome. Not that intelligence is deemed always correct. There are those who believe, amazingly, that we invoked this war based on faulty intelligence. These are the same people who haven't bothered to learn the widely available information that Bush and his cronies had their eye on Iraq well before 9-11. In fact, well before he was elected to his first term. Nor do they even know it is written into US National Security Policy that the US MUST go to war to in the name of oil resources in the Middle East. These are minor details I suppose to those who voted this thug back into office. Avoidable catastrophe awaits this nation and its victims during the next four years as we will undoubtedly reap what we have sown. Four years from now we will be assessing the fallout from this election undoubtedly in dead Americans and additional hatred from a new breed of terrorists now being bred the world over. So indeed God Bless America, we're going to need all the help we can get. Title: Re: Re: Texas? just like the "majority" "won" in Ukraine eh? ;)
LP, looks like the crooks from Moscow and the mafia from Donestk lost, and my did they lose a lot, as they tried to steal the election with a so called "majority". Ha! The real "majority" of Ukr people, just like the the majority of American people, got their wish. Too bad that the 600 million that Czar Putin sent to the crooks in eastern Ukraine, as well the millions that the crooks themselves invested in trying to rig the election, could not have been spent on more pressing needs that the country needs for it's people and interstructure. ....about Putin that is. The guy is bad news and getting worse. Not so on everything else though. The election in UA was a double farce in every respect. The poisoning thing alone was (and still is) right up there with Saddam and 9-11. Anyone who really believes YU was posioned by dioxon is as clueless as your 51%. Btw, you know I'm just yanking yer chain about Texans. I have no axe to grind with them and most are good folks. I'd be one to talk anyway since I live in the Land of Fruits and Nuts, it's getting so bad here I can hardly wait to escape. The weather sure is nice though... One funny thing, my wife wanted to make the flight her on her own. She lives in a small town with a pop of around 15K. I told her I'd have to go because she'd get lose in Amsterdam Schipoll or even Houstong Bush int. She did NOT believe. I had to tell her that the airport in MCALLEN was larger than Boryspol & that Bush INTL was larger than HER TOWN. She still doestn' get it. Actually if your wife can speak a little english she should be ok until she reaches her 1st American airport. If she doesn't have to spend the night at Amsterdam she should be fine. But I'd defineately be waiting outside of customs when she arrives in the USA. Who brought up majic. Not me. I frankly resent any implication of such. But you on the other hand are a simpleton, not willing to use the brain that YHWH gave you to reason with. You just suck up the traditions of men and refuse to even examine the truths behind what you celebrate as a holiday [holy - day] as being pagan at it's core. Dec. 25th, as a date to celebrate, has nothing to with the Christ, but a lot to do with celebrations of Nimrod, Tamuz, Ra, Saturn and other pagan gods that that the catholic church incorporated into their universal religion [re-legioning of spirits] and proclaimed that the celebrations were of Christian origin. Chicken poop is chicken poop no matter what color you paint it. Your logic makes about as much sense as the abundant superstitions that are found in countries of the FSU. I'm sure you will come up with a literary gem to dazzle us with your "simple" logic. it will possibly be meaningfull to talk to you. Namecalling just underlines the facts that you don't have any good arguements and tells more about you than me. Haroshij, the comparison was between Ukraine and Russia and the FSU. Ukraine is a relative small country in comparison to Russia. As well Ukraine is probably one fourth the size of Kazakhstan. When your an American and you have states the size of a country, you just kind of somehow feel those countries are small. Title: Re: Re: Ukraine a relative small country???? Jack, You're right. However every country is small compared to Russia, even the US if you compare territories. In my eyes it looks strange to name Ukraine a relativly small country. You could compare countries with different perspectives and then the results would be different. For instance, all countries appear small if you compare inhabitants with China. When I first started considering this I started looking around & I don't even remember where I read something along the lines of Ukrainian women being the MOST beautiful, submissivess, "traditional, etc. etc. etc. I bought it hook, line & sinker. I then made my frist trip to Ukraine (Lugansk, Kiev) & simply fell in love with the country. I NEVER tried Russia, Belarus, etc so I can't comment on what I don't know. Honestly women are women WHEREVER they may be from. Also almost all of what I read was simply "marketing". Having said that I MARRIED a Ukrainian so go figure. If it had been up to me honestly I would have married a Latina. To me THEY are they most passionate/HOT women anywhere. Instead I married a Ukrainian that LOOKS like a latina ;-)) Oh well. |
