Title: AOS paperwork questions
Post by: Bobby Orr on November 21, 2004, 05:00:00 AM
On the I-485 form:

"Part 1. Information About You,"  How does one answer the ninth question from the top, "Current INS Status?"  Also, where does one find her I-94 number?  There are more than one on the card.  Is it the typed number on the top left of the card in typed black ink under "Departure Number?," or can her A- number which is also on the I-94 card be the number they want?

"Part 3. Processing Information," sixth question on the left, where does one find the Nonimmigrant Visa Number?  Also, I assume the question "In what status did you last enter?  The answer would be: fiance visa??  Under marital status should she put single or divorced etc. because she was not married when she came into the USA or should she write married because she is now married to me?

Any one know what the fees really are now?  I assume they are $315 plus a $70 fingerprint fee?  Are people mailing in the 258 form as well?

Thanks for the help.

Current INS status - k-1 visa
I-94 number - top left of card under departure number
Non-immigrant visa number - in red towards bottom right of her visa.
What status did you enter? K-1 fiance visa
Marital status - married
No need to send in fingerprint forms

On the G-325A form at the top left under file number I assume she puts her
A number in because they lis A- there.  On the bottom right under Applicant
it is written "Be sure to put your name and Alien Registration number in
the box outlined by heavy border below."  I assume she puts it there as
well.  Is my assumption correct??
