Title: Adjustment of status forms Post by: Gman on October 10, 2004, 04:00:00 AM [This message has been edited by Gman]
If someone can clarify i would appreciate it. When filing I-130 it asks for proof of my citizenship. I do not have a copy of my birth
Thanks, Gman Title: Re: Adjustment of status forms Post by: Ray on October 11, 2004, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to Adjustment of status forms, posted by Gman on Oct 10, 2004
DO NOT send your passport! A photocopy of your certified birth certificate is best for proof of citizenship, but you can also submit a photocopy of your complete passport (all pages). What status are you adjusting from? The Form I-130 is not normally part of the AOS package for most K-visa holders if that is your entry status. The Forms I-485, G-325A, and I-864 are normally required, with optional Forms I-765 and I-131 depending on your current status. Gman, Have her hang on to the original I-94 because she will probably need it. Send photocopies of all documents except for the immigration application forms. Remember to copy both sides of a document if there is anything at all on the back side. Before you mail your petition, check with your local CIS office to see if they will accept walk-in applications for Adjustment of Status. It’s a good idea to do the walk-in if they allow it because they will hand check all your documents at the counter and tell you on the spot if anything is missing, etc. I would also have separate checks for each form and for biometrics if required.
