Title: Help from Kyiv phone jocks Post by: Yorkman on May 07, 2004, 04:00:00 AM I am now in Kyiv and having fits with cell phone, except for simple local calls.
I have ATT calling card that I have used everywhere in world (from land based phones), including Crimea with no problems. For all of Ukraine, the ATT access code is 8 pause 10011. Then, you get a dial tone, and dial 800 487 7646 and enter your pin which gives you a phone line in USA for making calls. However, my apt phone is blocked except for simple local calls (and it even seems to be locked for some of those), so the 8 pause 10011 only gets me an error message recording. OK, so my contacts gave me a cell phone to use with Kyiv Star, the 067 code. But, how on earth am I supposed to do the 8 pause 10011 on this cell phone?? I have tried everything I know, and all just get me error codes. My contacts are of no help in solving this problem. Meanwhile I am calling USA just dialing direct on the cell phone at heaven knows what extreme rates!! Thanks for any help. |
