Title: Questions About I-751 Submission... Post by: RickM on February 28, 2004, 05:00:00 AM Did all you out there that filed this send in copies of income tax forms?(2 self-employed businesses = about 40 pages for 3 yrs. for us...
I'm preparing the wife's I-751 with her and it seems pretty cut and dry unlike the AOS was. It seems to be simply asking for "PROOF" we are still together married and living together. The instructions didn't ask for any documentations other than copies of the origional I-129F from passport,I-797 NOA,I-551 green card and passport stamp from AOS, and copies of birth/cert. of any children born to us together and like/shared bills, accounts etc... Aside from the form, fee and above mentioned is anything else sent to them "OVER_KILL"...??? Title: Re: Questions About I-751 Submission... I don't know that I would "burden" them with 40 pages of tax files (or even 13.3 pages). Just include a few copies of bills that you have that are in both names. Such things as a voided check from your check book showing a joint account, perhaps a copy of a mortgage or renter's agreement with both names, phone bill, gas/electric bill, etc. -- shouldn't be a big deal. We did not have an I-751 interview, we just waited to be called, went up to the desk, and the guy did some paperwork and put a new stamp in her passport along with taking new fingerprints. You do need to bring new INS photos (the 45 degree side-view type) with you to the appointment. So, it's possible you may have an interview or not. Likely to be requested at the interview. You can call the IRS hotline (now) and request 2002 on back. However, by the time the 751 interview is scheduled, you'll probably need the '03 copy. RM.. You will very, very most likely have to show up together..at the local office ......Boston?... with new green card pictures...a new fingerprinting done .. and with whatever else they ask you to bring. (see my profile page) Perhaps they should update their language on that K-1 page you saw. The "interview" is quite informal here in Dallas. Our interviewer was very pleasent ..(like ole' aunt Betty) Keep posting on your progress. |
