It was on Discovery Health last night. There was a different one on last week on another Discovery spinoff, but I missed it. It was a double-documentary of two men's separate searches. IMO it I hope his blindness isn't representative of most other guys. Did anyone Title: Unfortunately Post by: KenC on December 17, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: what station is the documentary on ..., posted by Safari on Dec 17, 2003
that guy's blindness was representative of a rather typical MOB guy. He was lucky that she disappeared after he gave her the $500. KenC Title: Re: Unfortunately Post by: tim360z on December 19, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Unfortunately, posted by KenC on Dec 17, 2003
There are definitely alot of screwy guys out there, especially when it comes to women and money. If the method doesn't work well here, they try it in Russia. Throwing money around like that does not make women want to be with a guy....for long. Some might take a bite and fly away. I have an AW friend who recently had a problem with this. She's a really great looking AW at 33 with a 10 year old son and puts in alot of hours at the office. Just a friend. She wondered if she should call the police or not. A lawyer from another firm had asked her on a date a few times and she had said "no, she couldn't". No big deal it happens alot to her, so she has a bunch of ready-made replies. A week later, undeterred, he asks her out again, but this time he would like 2 dates with her. He offered her $5K to go out on 2 public dates with him. No touching and no sex, just 2 dates for $5K. His reason, he told her was that she worked so hard and he knew she never went out and had a good time and that he wanted to provide that to her. Well, this money thing made her think he was absolutely nuts and probably dangerous too. It did not make her think better of him. I've seen guys drop $6-9K in less than two weeks on women that they just met. Heck, it had me thinking about a boob job and hormone therapy [well maybe not]. Then they all cry about the mean nasty FSU woman who broke their hearts. Title: Re: Amen Post by: Safari on December 17, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Amen, posted by Lynn on Dec 17, 2003
I've heard that most men pursuing RW are well-off, but I had no idea how well, spending up to $9000 like that. Money grubbers aside, I can imagine any woman having a difficult time respecting a guy who shelled out that easily. Some of these guys were not that well-off. Several were just dumb schmoes with a nest egg or a stock windfall looking for someone as desparate as themselves. The guy that dropped the $9K was so devastated and surprised when she wouldn't answer the phone the day after her returned home---instead some woman who sounded like her, but could "not" speak English kept answering her #. Not even a so long sucker. Idiots like that have made it hard for those trying in earnest and with that kind of temptation a good woman would have a hard time staying that way. The kicker to that story is he never even got past a little kissy-pooh with her. I remember a saying, "a fool and his money are soon parted." Maybe fools shouldn't have money. :-) Every society has scammers, users and abusers. Maybe this guy should think with his other head, ya know the one with the brain. Title: Yep, but some people think ........ Do men respect a woman that puts out too easily? Do women respect a man that shells out too easily? Title: Re: Interesting anaolgy Post by: Safari on December 17, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Interesting anaolgy, posted by T P Cornholio on Dec 17, 2003
I can't speak firsthand about RW, but I believe women like a little bit of a challenge. I find that no matter how "nice" the guy, women resent men who submit too easily, because it makes them feel like they can't get a real man. Title: They will all test you.... How often do you read "real man" in their requirements for a mate? Title: Re: They will all test you.... Post by: Safari on December 18, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to They will all test you...., posted by Lynn on Dec 17, 2003
I'm not sure what you mean...do they not expect to find one, or just the first tolerable guy that comes along? It seems they often list a bunch of qualities they seek. With AW, what Because women really never lie if you can read their body language and I read the text article that wsbill posted this week about no public Title: same language there Post by: KenC on December 18, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: They will all test you...., posted by Safari on Dec 18, 2003
Safari, Women are women! Remember that when you go over. The problem here is that you have men without experience (with women) going over to meet women that may be very experienced with men. Kind of like leading sheep to a lion's den. These inexperienced men will be "easy pickings" for the less than sincere RW. The lack of self confidence some of these men exhibit puts them in a position to try and "buy" white knighthood. Generally speaking, if you do well with women here, you will do just fine over there. Everybody is the same and everybody is different. Just because one Joe had this experience or that problem doesn't mean that they are all alike. By a "real man" they (from my experience) are talking about someone who is in "control" but not a "control freak". A leader who can also be a partner. Someone they can depend on. Women are very smart and deserve to be with a smart man. A smart man finds women hard to focus on but still tends to look hard. A fine woman finds a good man easy to be with and also hard to deal with. With the garbage on our TV screens. What this means is you'll just have to go to the country side where TV isn't available. Probably more fertile ground out there anyway. |
