Title: Hotel at Borispol Post by: Jski on November 19, 2003, 05:00:00 AM What's the name of that Hotel at Borispol? Anyone ever stay there? I have a 9am flight on the 14th and will be getting back to Kiev late on the 13th and was thinking that it would work to get a few hours rest and be right there for my flight.

Jski, I stayed in Boryspil (Ukr. spelling) Hotel back in 2001 on my first visit there before I went back to AUS. We booked 2 separate rooms (for my now wife, son and MIL), then it cost about 120 Grv all together. I pasted a link below where you can check out all the information for youself. Be aware that if you book a room beforehand the cost of the room is 50% cheaper. We stayed only one night then and I really can't recall any problem (however, it always pays off if you have a local with you to negotiate with the staff. My MIL was instrumental in that matter :-). Even though I speak Russian quite well, I was still a foreigner with a foreign passport.) Good luck Mick http://www.airport-kiev.com.ua/eng/services/hotel_service/ Title: Re: Re: Hotel at Borispol Post by: Jski on November 20, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Hotel at Borispol, posted by Mick on Nov 20, 2003
Thanks. I'll book it today so it's one less thing to worry about. I'll get back from Simferopol around 9pm so I only need a place until my flight at 9am the next day. Hot water is a bonus :-) Title: Re: Hotel at Borispol Post by: tbirdjoy on November 20, 2003, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Hotel at Borispol, posted by Jski on Nov 19, 2003
The hotel is called Hotel Borisipol (sp?) Anyway it's named after the airport. I stayed there overnight last Sept. to catch my connecting flight to Simferopol. My room was small but there was hot water and the bed was okay. I don't remember the staff being rude but they were not overly friendly. It's a hop, skip, and a jump from the airport and they do have an airport shuttle. The ride to the terminal takes about 1 or 2 minutes. It's very convenient for catching flights. My wife and I stayed there this summuer on our way back here from being home for a while. Had my 77yr old dad in tow. IMO, the staff was some of the rudist I've ever encountered, even for Ukraine. The beds and furniture looked like they came from a children's camp. (hard to sleep in for an average size guy) The "free" breakfast was good and location was great,,, especially for a 5:00am flight. |
