Title: computer sent to russia
Post by: Robert D on October 03, 2003, 04:00:00 AM
have any of you sent a computer to Russia?   I may wish to send a lap top since it is small and I can find a used one cheap.  Any ideas?  Is is legal or possible even? Or is it cheaper to buy it in the net and have it delivered to her in Russia

If you ever want her to see the computer you better deliver it to her personally, otherwise you will likely make a Russian customs officer's family very happy.

Also, don't forget to carry a transformer and socket adapter.

Actually you should only need the socket adapter in most cases.  Look on the transformer for the laptop.  Most of them automatically convert 220 to 110 as was in the case of the Toshiba laptop I took to my wife's family in Krivoy Rog.
