Title: some help, please? Post by: chris g on September 20, 2003, 04:00:00 AM My girl, Elena, lives in Kazakhstan. The past few years we have used a service she found in Kazakhstan to send letters and messages via e-mail. I would e-mail my message to the service, they would translate and either mail or call Elena. Elena does not have e-mail or internet. The problem is that they do not answer there e-mails any more. The last time I tried I got a e-mail back saying that the e-mail address was no longer valid. So does anyone have a friend or girlfriend or anything in Kazakhstan with e-mail? Any other ideas on what to try? If you can help please let me know. Thanks daxam@aol.com

Have you considered sending her some flowers with a note attached explaining the problem? Most flower delivery services will translate a small message as part of the service and I'm sure your girl will not be opposed to the flowers :) Title: Re: some help, please? I would think that the main post office will send and retrieve e-mails for her. I know they do in Ukraine. Or any internet cafe. I know my fiance writes her letters by hand in English and then takes them to post office where they scan them and email to me as JPG files. As for translations have her translate them herself with a dictionary which will improve her English skills. I have seen a big improvement in my Lena's writing skills and vocabulary. Larry |
