Title: Question re: diploma translation service
Post by: Apk1 on June 25, 2003, 04:00:00 AM
My wife wants to get her diploma credentials evaluated.

Has anyone on this board tried to do this?

We have a form from I.E.R.F (international education research foundation) that for $150.00 will provide a detail report of her degree(applied mathematics). We received this from the local University.

The question I have if anyone on the board has done this...
Do we send in the "original" diploma?
It also asks for the "spravka" or course description, but we do not have it. What we do have is her course hours for each class completed and her original diploma.

Thanks for any advice on this matter...

We used Josef Silny and Associates in Miami.  It was recommended by one of the local organizations who deal with immigrants.  We DID have to send the original documents.  We sent them priority mail with tracking numbers and provided an envelope for their return.  Thus we were able to track my wife's original diploma and transcript both ways.  We submitted the translations to a local college and had no problems.

I have not used it myself, but check with a friend of ours, Kate, at www.virtualtranslation.com. Kate has experience with this and will give you all the facts. Russian or English.
