Title: Anyone know where I can purchase... Post by: Frank O on June 25, 2003, 04:00:00 AM a study bible in Russian? I've been looking for one but no dice yet. I've seen one page that had a Scofield Bible but it was "not available at this time" & another had an Open Bible but same thing, not available. My future mother in law had a REALLY ragged & used bible & would like to buy one for her & Diana. If anyone can be of help I would REALLY appreciate it.

Surma in the east village(11 E. 7th St. 212-477-0729) has bibles in ukrainian. (maybe russian, too.) You can also try Black Sea Bookstore (brighton Beach), 718-769-2878. You might should get some clarification in the version that would be proper to give her, i.e. EO, or a KJV, NIV, etc. translated into cryllic. There is always the possibility of alienation by the suggestion of using a different version than what she has always used. Why not buy one over there or have your lady do it for you. You sure have gone from bras to bibles quite quickly. I guess getting engaged could do this sort of thing to a guy ;-). Congratulations a little belatedly. Title: That's WHY I needed my bible!!! [This message has been edited by Philb] This organization translates different Christian texts into a variety of languages. The Russian section is quite extensive. They do not charge for their publications, but accept donations. I have taken some of these translated materials with on some of my trips. While I did not see Russian Language bibles on their publication list, I know that they would respond to your email and tell you where you could purchase one if they did indeed not have it themselves. This is a quality organisation. If you need any more info feel free to contact me via email. I almost forgot, here is the URL. http://www.lhfmissions.org/ They do have a English/Russian side by side of the New testament Title: Sorry for the double post.
