Title: A few rotten Arabs spoil it for everybody Post by: Bobby Orr on June 10, 2003, 04:00:00 AM I pulled this off another board:
http://thomas.loc.gov/ search for H.R. 2235 Let me know what you think. Is there a possibility this will go through our government as is? This might make your search easier, though you would just have to find the exact bill with the above link: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/D?c108:34:./temp/~c1080Pn4d7:: If it is passed by the house and then Senate as is, the implications are extremely severe for those looking to file a K1 visa. Title: It's a mixed bag. Post by: John K on June 10, 2003, 04:00:00 AM ... in response to A few rotten Arabs spoil it for everybod..., posted by Bobby Orr on Jun 10, 2003
It's primarily set up against the H1B visa workers, who come over here to work. It's the sister, brother, child of the immigrant worker that is going to be impacted the most. If you are bringing over a lady with a child there are serious implications regarding this. For a simple K1 visa without children, it doesn't look like it has much impact. I got a feeling that this bill isn't really antiterrorism. It has more of a pro-union, "keep the jobs at home" kind of feel to it, disguised under the auspices of "keeping us safe from terrorists"... This link comes up with a message to re-enter your search as they are saved for only a short time. What do we enter to see what you are refering to?
