Title: Question for all you wise people??
Post by: DonP on June 03, 2003, 04:00:00 AM
My wife just called me and asked me about a proof the Russian and Ukranian emabassy is asking her for in preparation for her trip over to the Ukraine.  They are asking for proof of  Change Of Name.  Has any one else heard of this or know what this is about. She is trying to get her passport updated.  I figured the marriage license would work, but don't know if this is sufficient.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What you may need to do is get it registered at the Russian/Ukrainian embassy here as a legal document.  Then, get the thing translated and have the translation notarized.  I'd talk to the closest embassy or consulate to be sure...
