Post by: CS767 on March 14, 2003, 05:00:00 AM
I sent my tourist visa request in yesterday overnite mail and three day prosessing and forgot to put the 4th page with my signature in the envelope and
Irene from the embassy called me on the phone long distance and asked me to fax it to her.She then voluntarily told me I should have it in a week(Friday next).I looked at it 10 times before I put it in the mail and I was sure it was done right.Goes to show ya!

Way to go! I'm sure that you are glad that there is one less thing to worry about (at least when you finally have your passport/visa back in your hands).

Wow, I am a little surprised that the Consulate was so cool with the fact that you had omitted something and let you fax it to them. Don't even expect that to happen with a Russian Consulate (or anyone else's for that matter).

The Russian embassy in the US seems to be very user friendly.  I tried to get a tourist visa directly using an invitation from a Moscow hotel.  Unfortunately the invitation covered only part of my stay in Russia.  The Russian embassy noticed that and called me to find out where I was staying the rest of the time.  When I told them, they requested invites for those periods as well.  As I wasn't willing to get those invites, I asked them to return the visa application (and fee).  They did immediately with no problems.  Sadly, the US embassy would not have been that efficient or timely.
