Title: A gift for Valentines Day Post by: Ryan on February 13, 2003, 05:00:00 AM I received my Valentines Day gift from my girlfriend it is a wonderful Russian made porcelain sailboat. I put a little candle in the back of the sailboat and it illuminates wonderfully. When I put it on my dresser and shut off the lights you could see light through the sail and behind the ship light is cast on the wall in a half circle. So it looks as though the ship is sailing into the sun. I just love it! So many Russian things as these are simple yet pleasing to the senses.
Anyway for Christmas I sent her a talking picture frame. I put a picture of her and I together in the frame and pushed the record button and read her a love poem. I then put superglue on the record button so it could not be recorded over and mailed this to her. She loves it so much (When I look at your picture I think you have to feel that I see you and thinking about you. I hear your voice when I am alone everyday - in the morning, in the evening, every time, when I can hear it.) But anyway my point the picture frame was in customs for a month so it was about two months before she got the gift. I sent it threw the post office regular mail. Her stuff gets to me in two weeks, but my stuff takes forever. So anyway I got creative this Valentines Day. (Which is tomorrow) I spend allot of time on ICQ I constantly search for people that live in the same city as my girlfriend. I ask them questions like what are some of the great places you like to go and we chat about stuff going on in their city. It is just stuff I use when I go and visit with my girlfriend so that I know more about the city and what is happening. It’s called research and I enjoy it. It is how I have always gone to the Ukraine and Russia without the help of agencies. So I found this one Russian guy on ICQ we have been talking for sometime and he has been to the U.S.A. before. He is educated threw some classes at the University of Michigan and since I live near to Ann Arbor most my life we hit it off great. So to make a long story short my Russian friend is going out and purchasing a teddy bear with Valentines Day stuff on it along with a Yellow rose, (my girlfriends and my flower). He is then going to deliver it tomorrow to her at her house. I sent this guy some money through Western Union for all his troubles. He has everything purchases as we talk most everyday and he tells me every detail. What I am trying to say is that it helps to make friends in these cities. It helps to just trust someone blindly once in awhile. It helps to be creative…. Title: Re: Nice idea Ryan....n/t Post by: Jski on February 13, 2003, 05:00:00 AM |
