Try checking with your local Jewish Community Services.We couldn't find even 1 russian-speaking family with-in 50 miles when my wife had arrived here.I had called local community colleges,etc. and their were not even any russian-speaking teachers around here. Finally someone suggested to us that there are many Jewish folks that can speak russian so we took the advice and found our local Jewish Federation and Community Services... Now the wife has a friend that was born 1 1/2 clicks away from her parents in Russia and a real mentor here.Go figure... My wife was a teacher of Russian and American liturature and thinks that she has no chance of finding a teaching job at one of our local universities because of the number of Jewish immigrents in our country from EE. She thinks they most likely have taken all the Slovic department jobs, she is so sure of this that she hasn't even checked. I do know there is a large community of them here in Columbus Ohio. People of Jewish faith were one of the groups that could request, and receive, the right to emigrate from the Soviet Union. As a consequence, some who were successful with immigrating to America have been here for some time.
