Title: Who do you guys use for Cheap Tickets? Post by: MarkInTx on January 28, 2002, 05:00:00 AM I've been scanning the web... I keep hearing how the airlines are offering these great deals... but I'm not seeing any!
Who do you all use to get your tickets when going to the FSU? I met a guy who was going from Dallas to Rome for $385. He got it off of BetsFares.com. But apparently, they don't consider the FSU part of Europe. I saw no such fares to there... I know that --the now banned-- Mdante99 always talked about how he could get good fares because they bought in bulk. Seems to me there are a couple of other members who are travel agencies who are on here. If so, please feel free to email me. I need to start setting up my next trip. Thanks Title: Re: Who do you guys use for Cheap Tickets? Post by: cfonde on January 29, 2002, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Who do you guys use for Cheap Tickets?, posted by MarkInTx on Jan 28, 2002
However, those of you who read my nightmare travel report from August know that it Finally, a few weeks ago Finnair cut fares by about $150.00 (on Travelocity & Orbitz) for In my opinion, I don't think that anyone could substantially beat this price, while Ok, so what's my point, you ask? Continue to monitor your preferred flight itineraries Finally, I realize that some of you spontaneous fliers are finding better last-minute Title: Re: Who do you guys use for Cheap Tickets? Expedia is easy to use and allows you to see various flight options if you know what your looking for. Neli at Glavs Travel in NYC (neli@glavs.com) was very helpful in tracking down fares -- especially one way fares from Moscow to the US. Unfortunately I am on the west coast and wanted to go thru Seattle. That may have limited her on consolidated fares and the like. My March trip from Eugene, OR to Moscow via Seattle was $753 -- both Neli and Expedia had the same fare. The Seattle - Moscow leg was about $640 -- roundtrip. He did an excellent job for me last May in putting together a Ukraine to Russia to Latvia "excursion". Saved me a lot of money. He knows how to make it work. During this winter I now have seen plenty of $350 round trips to Moscow from New York advertised in the village voice. I have found that Katerina Krasnobaev, who is Ukrainian, from Panorama travel in New York gets the best flights to Ukraine. Her number is 212-7410033. Try emailing her if you do noy want to call, info@panoramatravel.com Title: Re: Who do you guys use for Cheap Tickets? I've got autmated searches using travelocity and expedia (I can't remember which one searches domestic vs. international) that track fare changes. One time I got a notice of low cost flights from Miami to Kiev and got the flights directly from the Northwest website. ($675 - haven't heard of people posting much lower fares.) The best I find is $916 for round trip 10 day in May from Detroit to Kiev with stop in between. You have to use a consolidator and they don't usally advertise over the net. |
