Title: Cost of Documents in Ukraine Post by: hockeybrain on December 17, 2001, 05:00:00 AM For the men who have payed this expense: How much should it cost a girl to obtain her International Passport, get police certificate, copy of birth certificate translated and sent to me in the US. In Russia all this cost about $50. In Ukraine it seems to cost alot more. Am I right in this assumption? Thanks

Here is a link to an answer from Dan to my question about how long it takes to get a Ukrainian passport: http://www.planet-love.com/wwwboard/show.php?russian/archive00128/messages/56383.txt Title: Re: Cost of Documents in Ukraine Post by: Johninm on December 17, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Cost of Documents in Ukraine, posted by hockeybrain on Dec 17, 2001
It all depends on city size, speed of the process and agency( there may be few ).., or even "personal connections" . Sumy, Ukraine , population around 400k, it costs $15 (for express - 10 days ) to obtain police certificate, otherwise $5 ..and wait 3/4 months . In Kiev , as any big city in FSU it is considerably more ( $$$ ) to arrange for any type of documents, translations or certificates. Very often twice as much as opposed to smaller cities . My fiancee gives the following costs in Kyiv: Intl. passport for adult $100, for child $15 (go figure) police report $20 + $18 for translation birth cert/divorce translation (2 cert. copies) $8/page This was for "express service" (cheaper if you are in no hurry). I can't remember exactly how much it was, but you have to pay for all these stamps, which add up quick. Then it all has to be translated, which is expensive too. A passport alone costs around $50 according to my wife. |
