I prefer Moneygram over Western Union and they are less expensive. Title: Re: Sending money to FSU Post by: davet on November 12, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Sending money to FSU, posted by machinator on Nov 11, 2001
I have sent money to Russia using WU and it has been fast, efficient and expensive. I have used Paypal on eBay auction extensively and am totally pleased. When I checked with Paypal in July on transferring money to Russia, they said they had not established their network there yet. Maybe it has changed. Hopefully it couldn't be more expensive than WU. I sent a bank ATM card connected to a special bank checking account to my fiancee in the Kyiv area (you do not need to use any checks, only make deposits and use the card). * I was charged $1.50 for each transaction by the ATM owner, and none by my bank. NOTE: Call with the pin number for the card, and do not send it with the card. Title: WU, MoneyGram, or Meest (Ukraine only) . . . If you have an established relationship with the girl, you may want to minimize your fees by sending her a card she can use from an ATM. You populate the account here with cash, and she can withdraw it there for a fraction of the cost these other services will charge you. I hope this helps. - Dan Title: Re: Sending money to FSU Post by: mdante99 on November 11, 2001, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Sending money to FSU, posted by machinator on Nov 11, 2001
Where in FSU are you sending the money? Generally Western Union is the best and safest way. Pay Pal has some risks in sending money to FSU. If it is Moscow or Kiev, we have contacts; if you wish drop me a note. Mark |
