Colombian consulate? I assume you mean MRE. That is where a VISA owner who wishes to extend his stay in Colombia, must apply for a new visa. In Colombia you go before the Colombian MRE (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) or before any Colombian Consulate's Office (only located outside of Colombia) prior to the visa's expiration. The procedure is described in the Colombian Ministry of International Relation's web page (www.minrelext.gov.co) for application or renewal of a VISA (sometimes comes up some times not, especially on the weekends). No new VISA will be issued to a foreigner who requests the renewal of his original VISA after its expiration date. I assume you have the address and phone numbers but here they are: MRE, Calle 10 Nº 5-51, Bogotá, PX: 282-7811; 287-6800 Title: Re: Bogota Hotels Post by: LatinIntro on December 07, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Bogota Hotels, posted by Pete E on Dec 7, 2005
[This message has been edited by LatinIntro] Pete, you guys should stay with us at charlies place... it is not the bogota plaza but it is in the north and I promise you'll feel as comfortable and as good as I did when I stayed at your place. We'll put on some Freddy Fender at the bar! Title: Re: Re: Bogota Hotels Post by: MarkNJ on December 07, 2005, 05:00:00 AM ... in response to Re: Bogota Hotels, posted by LatinIntro on Dec 7, 2005
I have always stayed at Charlie's Place even when I was not on the prowl... Great location and very friendly folks... plus Nelson has the connections many people need to get their job done. [This message has been edited by Cali James] Pete, I've stayed at the HOTEL DE LA FERIA several times and was more than pleased. Price was reasonable and they'll pick you up at airport also if you make arrangements. But this hotel is close to u.s. embassy, not sure where colombian embassy is though...
