I have been reading this site for about a month. I posted a couple of things that I felt. One thing about this site is a lot of people think too much or put way too much thought into this. I have been to South America so many times. My spanish sucks, but was that a problem, No. This site is ( I hope) to help other people thinking about going to Colombia. Instead, we make fun of the spelling or take advantage when someone is down.

I have one opionion, and it's just mine, not everybodies. South America is beautiful. I married a lady from Cali. I have been reading on this site not to marry a model or a good looking girl. Not everybody says this. A lot of guys do. Being a simple white guy I had the best experience dating her. I went with her on her shoots and when she was doing a music video. She is the most down to earth woman I have ever met.

Good luck to all of you guys. I will be in Cali New Year's Eve and the whole month of Feb. One other thing. I have been to Paraguay several times. The women there rival any of the best.

Met my wife in a restaurant. She was there with a friend. My Spanish is really poor but she thought it was cute and appreciated the fact that I was trying. The women that I have dated in Colombia have been on my own. Going to the malls and having friends there to set me up.

In Paraguay I have a friend who lives there too. Most of the time I would see a beautiful woman on the street or there are women who work in the grocery stores. These women usually pass out free samples of a certain product. I started talking to her and eventually dated her.

Being an American in Paraguay is great because there are not a lot of us there.

What can you tell us about this mysterious country... political stability, economic status of average woman, appearance of women (European or Indian or mix), major cities, how they regard gringos, etc. Gracias

I have been to Paraguay about 4 times. A buddy of mine joined the Peace Corp about 8 years ago. He was supposed to do 2 years and return home. Well, he fell in love with the women. He has no plans to return to the U.S.

Asuncion is the capital. It's like any other big city in S.A. The one thing that is different is that there are German communities around the city. You will see beautiful tan, blond, blue eyed females who look like they come from the beaches in the states. But, they are from Paraguay and speak spanish. I guess some of the Germans have been busy.

The women come in all shades. The women like Gringos and go out of their way to practice their English with you. It's great and there are not a lot of Americans there. Another fun town was Villa Rica. Smaller city but a lot of fun. People are very friendly.

One more thing. If you like adventure, take a bus out to the smaller villages. You'll find little motels and restaurants. The women in these places are beautiful. I traveled a lot by bus. Never felf unsafe one time. Bus rides are long.

i.e. maybe he fell in love with the Caleña and she with him, and maybe that didn't happen with a girl from
Paraguay...

Sounds like an honest question, he stats that girls from Paraguay rival any country, and he has made several trips there, but marries a girl from Colombia. That’s like saying, the girls from United States are good as any country, but you marry a girl from Australia. Just wanted to know why he married this particular girl, and didn’t find a girl in Paraguay, and (old timers) damm, I feel old now, thanks a lot!!!!! Back to my rocking chair :-)

sorry mudd, actually you're alot younger than me!!  lol...
wasn't referring to your age, but your experience in looking for a wife abroad...

And hey, I agree that the woman in Colombia or even Paraguay are much better as a whole as those here in the U.S...but who knows who I'm going to marry...with the latin population growing here in Atlanta, I've met many nice women from various latin countries.  Only God knows who I will marry as of now....maybe even a gringa.

One of my latino friends in Miami is always talking to me about the women in Bolivia and Paraguay.  Go figure

I've never been there, but I can guarantee a Gringo would have the rarity factor going for him.

Lately, I've also been devoting some thought to Uruguay.

I have not yet obtained much information on Paraguay or Uruguay. However, I see no reason not to go there looking for a nice vacation and beautiful women. Safety factor is better than many other places. I have acquired information from some posts and my own searches. Once I am able to justify the time away from business after the first of the year I will certainly head to Colombia first but may consider these as options later in the year. Anyone with good information to share, I would like to read more. Thanks!

You make one comment that is not correct, but seems to many to be the thinking. You say:THIS SITE IS TO HELP PEOPLE GOING TO COLOMBIA" not so, this site is to help men about finding a woman in any latin country, not just Colombia.I know many men go there, but after so many trips there myself, i have come to know there are so many places equil to colombia that often get ignored and i will be doing a trip report soon on just this type of place, so stay tuned
