Title: Meanwhile, back in Colombia
Post by: Michael B on September 03, 2005, 04:00:00 AM
FARC has sunk to a new low. They are currently holding slightly over 1000 people prisoner. They recently announced that if their families don't pay 100,000,000 (100 million) pesos each (about $45,000USD), within 6 months, they will kill them all. After they kill them, they will be willing to return the corpses for only 20 million each.

Seems to me the solution is the same as with some Arab terrorists.A bullet between the eyes. But,they are not suicidal like the Muslim nuts, they will cut and run when they see sufficient writting on the wall.
The solution is LONG overdue.Time for 1 tenth of one percent of the population to quit scewing up a beautifull country of mostly beautifull people.
Uribe is the man to do it.He deserves all the support he can get in Colopmbia, which is about 80%,and from the US.Colombia is our number one ally in South America,a very important place for us.
Enough of this bullshit.Shoot enough of them the others split.

Problem is, if you do that, they will kill the prisoners in the process of fleeing. This Nueva Esperanza group is trying to work out a prisoner swap deal with them, 10 innocents (another source I saw said 10 innocents and and 1 politician, another said 10 innocents OR 1 politician) released for each FARC member released. Of course the problem with that, as some Colombian pointed out on that discussion board, is the FARC's reaction will be "We need to get another one of our guys out, let's go kidnap 10 more innocents."
