My wife went to the embassy in Bogota today for her interview. She
told me the place was packed she thought everyone in Colombia
was trying to go to U.S.A. Anyway when she was called to the
window the woman there tried to pull a fast one on my wife by
telling her that her divorce paper was the wrong one. My wife told
her to reread the paper because it was valid for what was required.
The woman backed down and turned the papers in and told my
wife to go sit down to wait for the interview.

 The interview ended up being nothing but some questions about
my family and that was it. I think it helped that my wife knew
everything about me and our papers were in order. So my wife and
her son are approved to come here now. She has to go tomorrow
to pick up her visa at 4:00pm and we are finished.

the REAL fun is about to begin :-) Good catch by your lady in regards to telling the agent to re-read the divorce papers. I wonder why the agent was in such a hurry to flip your wife off like that? With your wife saying that the place was packed, brings back fond memories....

Congratulation! I hope you have many wonderful years together.  I also think it was good of you to accept a women with a child.  That shows you are indeed not a selfish person.

the few girls I have met with kids, the mothers themselves were nice, but WOW, talk about some spoiled brats. The boys in particular, just running like wild dogs. If I would have acted like that, my dad or mom would have straightened me out in a hurry.

A definite sign of a lack of male influence and discipline...I agree with Heat...many guys pass up some good opportunities with single mothers because they are selfish and self centered.  But what a great thing to take a woman with a child and turn that child's life around.  More guys should do this...but then again, some guys don't have what it takes...some are still children themselves...They would rather go for the young hotties with no children, then come on this board and cry when they get burned...
