Heat, do you have any experience with the Dominican Republic? I think I have found plenty to keep me busy in BAQ, but I was just curious with your take on the DR (in general, I know everyone's mileage may vary :-) since I had considered that destination at one time... I really like the DR. However I think the really hot ones can also be a Little spoiled because there are not as many as in Colombia. Not to say that there are not a ton of really nice Ladys there. The culture is a bit more hard core dog eat dog to me. But for sex appeal and fun they are hard to beat. Plus I dance Bachata! All in all it is really a great place for hunting. Good luck. As you know, my trips to Colombia/LA have been only to BAQ. In BAQ, they don't dance "real" Salsa, all dances (except for the Reggaeton stuff) morph into a Merengue/Slow Dance/Close Dance "thing"... which isn't ALL bad :-) However, I have become quite fond of "real" Salsa, with "real" turn patterns, etc., especially after spending months taking lessons and becoming good enough to confidently dance several combinations... so I was deeply saddened (not to mention shocked) that there was no "real" Salsa in BAQ (except for Jamie who is excellent). Back to Bachata... as I was out dancing last night at a Salsa club in my city, chilling out to the Bachata the DJ was playing... thinking Bachata would fit right into the BAQ close/slow dance scene, but there was NO Bachata... does Bachata exist in Colombia? Yes you will hear it on the radio sometimes. But no one knows what it is. You will never see it danced. Maybe in 10 years it will catch on. Who knows.... |
