My Story.

My story begins with the end of a 17 year marriage.
Needless to say things just happen this way.
With fifty percent of the marriages in the U.S. ending in divorce.
I was not surprised.

I began to return to Colombia where I had worked in the past as I knew it held the type of Latina that I wanted. A good friend took me on as his wingman and we started in Barranquilla and Cartagena.

For the first two years. I never used agencies. I would date girls I met who worked in Hotels, bars and even a singer in a band. My best friend who is an agency veteran would use them and I would tag along but I never dated directly from them.

Because I speak fluent Spanish I was able to meet them and date them without any trouble. I also dated Colombian/Latin girls in the U.S. as where I live we are about half Latin. I also spent some time traveling back to the U.S. for business.

I dated a hot Colombiana in my home town but she just was not so great in the sex department. Good to look at but not my style.

Anyway I made my way to Bogotá and eventually to Cali. I decided two years ago to rent an apartment and share it with my best friend with the intention of being a playboy with a half hearted attempt at finding another girl.

Being used to living in style I rented a two floor 4000 SQ feet Penthouse and decked it out with very modern furniture. I hired a decorator and when it was done the place was a palace. We had a Jacuzzi with a fantastic view of the skyline of Cali. It was really a chick magnet. Ask anyone who has been there and they will tell you. Pete, Cali pro, Traveler, Throw etc..

I also had a car. A Mazda four door which really made it fun.
Having a car and a Penthouse made me the King of Cali.

Well you can only imagine the fun. I'm not a drinker but I love the ladies. We had parties that would have made Larry Flint blush.
You get the picture.

Well I was having fun but I missed the real love of a women. I dated several girls who were college educated and great to look at but none who really made me want to give up the single life.

What I saw in the agencies as I accompanied him really turned me off to the whole scene.

My best friend then drug me to a new agency. Latin Best. As he was friends with th owner and had used them for years. I really to a liking to Luz Amparo and Maritza who run this agency.

One day I was bored while waiting for my friend and Luz asked me what I was looking for in a women. I was upfront with her.

I wanted a women who did not have children and who did not want kids.
(I have three) I wanted a women over thirty who was professional and had money. One with a U.S. Visa and she had to be thin and cute.

She laughed at me and told me I wanted a girl who did not need me for a green card or money. Then she said that was a tall order to fill. I told her that was what I need to have to end my bachelorhood.

I want to say this. I have bashed the agencies. But this agency was very different. Luz will take no crap. She will tell the guys upfront if the girl is a bad girl. then it's up to you. She is honest and trustworthy. You will not see ringers on her web page. She has real girls. she will not overcharge you and is very honest. And she really cares about helping people.

I really love this women. She's a class act.

She took all of five minutes to find a girl. She called her and we tried to meet that day but she had some work issues. She never charged me. Go figure.

The picture was a girl with black hair down to the middle of her back and a killer smile.

We met for lunch. She drove up in HER new car and off we went.
I found her funny, smart and very sexy. Sixteen years younger than me.An engineer with her post graduate degree. (She needs a Prenuptial agreement as much as I do) She owns her own apartment and several other properties. As well as a Finca which gives her monthly income.

She was very honest with me and told me she could not have children and asked me if that was a problem. I told her I had a vasectomy and we both laughed and she was relived.

We began to date and I also dated other women for a period of several months.

I lost interest in the other girls and we dated exclusively. I invited her to visit me in the U.S. She came and we had a wonderful time for two weeks. We really hit it off. She paid much of her own way. My kids loved her.

Back in Cali we just about lived together. She told me one day that she wanted to take me to dinner and have a "special date". We went to a high class restaurant with another couple and later a strip club. The girls were a riot. The really made the evening. Joking and making us laugh.

Needless to say she had that one quality that I really was looking for. She was very open minded and not jealous. This was the girl for me.

During the course of our time together we also had several disagreements. She and I were able to work them out without any real issues. I think this is very necessary to do. If you are not able to have resolution to problems then you can not judge how the other person will treat you when the real problems come.

We decided about three months ago to live with each other. I wanted to pursue some business in the U.S. And I asked her to come back and live with me. She agreed.

As we prepared to move to the states a tragedy happened. Her father a retired M.D. passed away. I spent two weeks with her and we slept on the floor of the hospital during this time.

She held up with all the grace and dignity that one could expect in this type of situation. I too lost both my parents. I know how this can be. This is a real hard blow to anyone. She was a trooper. Again showing her class and character.

She is now selling her furniture, car etc. She quit her very well paying job she is renting her apartment. She is preparing to come and live with me as I write this.

I want to close by saying that if you are willing to sacrifice time and money you too can find exactly what you are looking for in ANY city in Colombia or for that matter any country.

But as Hoda has said. You better do the check up from "the neck up".

If I had not got the playboy out of me first I would never be ready to love a wonderful girl like her. I need to heal first and get my shit together. Or I never could have found this wonderful women.

Do not give up hope my Amigos. If a hardcore X cop like me can find love then you can too.

Thanks Heat for telling me more about yourself so I can better understand my enemy.  Now you are no longer just an angry ex government worker you are now hopefully mellowing out and  in love with a beautiful Colombian lady you met VIA AN AGENCY.  Your daily attacks on agencies are hurting Luz Amparo as well as others and she is the one person who has brought you some happiness.  Over the years I have sent hundreds of clients to Latin Best and Luz has helped them - you see we all work together in this busines to help guys find happiness.    Some of these guys came to Colombia originally on a TLC tour and now they are exploring their other options so you see we are all working as a team sharing our secrets with poor uninformed gringos living in the US.  Thats what keeps this business going.

Next week Luz is coming to Bogota to participate in the Latin Lifemates  Fiesta maybe I should download some of you negative posts about agencies and give them to Luz ?  do you mind ?

No I don't mind at all.  I'm now send your angry posts to all newbies telling them to avoid YOUR agency.
When I see someone new I take time out to e mail them and tell them what I think about you.

Telling them how you slander Veterans, Fireman and Cops.

True.

South America does provide a second, third or fourth chance to have a life that has some real meaning.
But success does require that a guy deal with his own internal problems first.
I have met some guys in Colombia who are obviously suffering from depession or anxiety or something.
But,instead of dealing with whatever the internal problem happens to be,they blame their lack of success on the agency or the ladies.
For example, one guy I met became obsessed with his translater. When she indicated she was not interested,he ran off into the hills and joined the FARC or something.
(Actually,he went to the airport and took the next flight home.)
He obviously had some unresolved personal issues.

Basically,the guys who do have good mental health usually find success in South America.
Those guys have happy marriages and the first thing they see every morning is thier beautiful,loving South American wife sleeping next to them.
What in this world could be sweeter?

One book on CD that I have been using to work on my own issues is entitled "Your Best Life Now" by Joel Osteen. I like books on CD because I can listen to them while I am driving.

Heat,
Not too long ago,when you were sounding like a confirmed batchelor I said I though that even with you if the right girl came along you would go for it.
Sounds like thats exactly whats happened.And its great she has a visa so she can be with you while you go through your divorce ordeal in Florida.
Congratualations and good luck.I think everything will turn out fine in the long run.

Great story complete with honesty.  Thats always a good thing.  I think that we don't emphasize the check up from the neck up enough on this board.  

A man needs to ask himself a lot of question before heading down south or anywhere for that matter.

He needs to address issues such as his desire for kids, a wife that works vs.  one that stays at home, education, etc, etc.  If a man wants to be treated like the man of the house so to speak, he needs to be ready to be the man of the house and accept the responsibilty that goes along with having a wife (especially one from a foreign country).

Anyway, great posts and isn't it refreshing to find a woman that is willing to give up somethings to be with a man she loves instead of a woman that trys to hold on to everything all at once and ends up with nothing.

That is a great story. I toodo not really dig agencys much, but have never heard a bad thing abour Luz Amparo at all, ever !!

she does not have the "HOTTIES" that someother agencys have, but the women there i have heard are the real deal.

Good luck with your lady and if she has a sister, cousin, dog, jaj, ect, that is educaded , i am listening .

I am tired of meeting unducaded women, i find i lose interest after the first beer !!

What kiil me is you start seeig a woman and the first thig they say is,  I WANT TO HAVE A BABY WITH YOU ' WOWO BEBE, SLOW DOWN

Thye typicly have no job, or a low pauing one, no money, no plan, and yet all they can think about is having a baby with you.
