After 7 months and nearly dying of heart attack from the stress of this long wait, we FINALLY have our interview appointment July 11th. WE ARE SOOOO EXCITED A special thanks to Gary Bala, who consulted with me during the worst of this crisis. And to YOU gentlemen on this forum, who pointed me in this direction in the first place. Michael You are right, but you have NO idea! My petition FLEW through Vermont, my fiance had her Packet 3 in HAND in less than 2 months! We were making preparations for her to arrive in JANUARY then --- NOTHING! NOTHING!!! For more than 5 Months --- NOTHING!!! They posted interview list after interview list, month after month and she was NEVER listed. They even produced a waiting list at the end of March, and she wasn't listed even on that! The amount of stress that we were under was incredible!!! It was as if I was waiting for the decision on a mortgage or a JOB for over 3 MONTHS!!! If it weren't for people like Gary Bala, My Congressman and some friends in the US State Department I doubt if I would have gotten this interview in time before my relationship went up in smoke! We have never been under so much stress, but in the end I believe it will all be worth it. sisko Title: Re: Agreed! What was going on in the embassy? Were they backlogged? or did they misplace your petition? I know the feeling thinking that everything is gonna go bust. Hard to tell. The Consulate in the Dominican Republic is VERY backed up right now. However K1 processing in MOST cases is usually 4-6 months. My petition seemed to disappear after my fiance received her Packet 3. We saw many people coming months after us and getting appointments. We became worried when they produced a waiting list, and her number was not on it! If my petition was misplaced, then my Congressman took care of it for us. Sisko: This is great news!!! July will be here before you know it. I'm going to Santiago on june 2nd. I'm staying there for about 16 days. Again, congratulations. Yes she does, one of them is REALLY hot too but they are all married with children. Congrats and thanks for the heads-up on the quake, we will call tonight and see if anyone was affected, although I don't know of anyone close to us in those areas.
