Title: To Patrick
Post by: papi on April 26, 2005, 04:00:00 AM
Hi Patrick, I am writing to you from CA. I should be open for business sometime next week. I would appreciate your listing my company in your agency section educating your readers on our offerings; however, I will not upload any forum reverse links at this time. I hope you understand. Thanks

Papi,

You have to submit your website via the form page.  Then you'll have to add a reverse link to PL before I'll add it to the links page here.  Let me know when that's done and I'll take a look at your site.

no can do Patrick on the reverse link at this time as i have concerns with all gringo forums. it is shame not to let your new guys in on our tours. we are going to have great women and very reasonable pricing and many might appreciate learning of our tours from your agency list. in fact, both the radio stations and hotels have written me the last couple days telling me that they have received a ton of inquires from the ladies. i hope you might consider making an exception over the next couple months. we could revisit the reverse link down the road. Thanks

PS i already submitted the site at the form page a couple of weeks ago

What's the concern about forums?  You want Planet-Love to inform it's participants about your service, but you don't want your clients to know about all the information they could get from other people involved in the search for a Latin woman?  I think the ability to get in touch with others who have some knowledge and no financial incentive to answer one way or another is something quite valuable to guys new to the whole MOB scene.

In order to best serve your client's needs, you should want them as well informed as they could be.

Patrick, you know my concerns - which pertains to the recent emails I sent you and similar situations that arise from time to time on the forums. i will give it some thought. my tours are going to be great and your site has a lot to offer so maybe we can figure this thing out

What's to figure out? Partick has a rule. You refuse to abide by it, but want his service anyway. He says no exceptions, follow my rule or don't get my service. His board, his rule. You can run YOUR board (or agency) with YOUR rules...simple enough. So, what is there to figure out?

That's not fair. You want Patrick to send you traffic, but you don't want to place a recipricol link to Planet Love on your site? How is that fair? I wouldn't do it. What's Planet Love get out of it? Your Tour Information? Aren't you making a buck off those tours? 1% or not.

Patrick, a very large agency told me only 1% of his biz comes from the gringo forums and he advised me to stay clear. i think the percentage is higher but at the same time i have my concerns. i do believe you deleted one thread today and that was probably a good thing - thank you for that. i know you want the link - let me think about this some more. maybe i could put it back up but would be hesitant to participate in your forum discussion and just monitor things here. again, let me give this more thought. i would like to be listed

Papi,

I think you are worrying way too much about some recent post(s) on discussion forums not to put a reverse link on your site for fear of some negative press.  I noticed all the forum links at your site got zapped.  Plus to ask Patrick not to have a reciprocal link is unfair in my opinion.  Put those forum links back on your site man.  It will only benefit you and the new guy looking into your agency.

I've heard that 1% statistic as well and frankly don't believe it.  When a guy is doing a little research on the net he will invariably run into these forums plus many of the agencies have links to the forums.  The old adage, "No News is Good News" doesn't apply for free advertising that would benefit your tour agency and the forums.

Papi,

I did notice the cute Cubana.  Nice photo but I would get more poses of her including a close up.  Using a digital camera on automatic exposure will probably suffice but be sure to check the exposure.  It may be off a step or two.  In that case take a few more photos in manual mode that is one setting over and under exposed.

Another tip is don't take a portrait straight on but rather with her posing at a slight angle.  I think most men would appreciate a close up facial shot, waist up, and a full length pose.  Outside photos are best on overcast days (no squinting eyes) and avoid sun directly shining in their faces for same reason.

I'm sending my bill via USPS.

Where's those links! :-)

Pablo
