I don't know how many weddings TLC is averaging a week but I attended one of the TLC parties Bruce had in Dec. and it was pretty nice.

I met all the guys that were on his tour and at least 3 that I know of got engaged. I'm not sure how wise that is but hey it's their life.

One of the guys that got engaged was in his 60's and he hooked up with a woman in her early 40's. The guy lived in Alaska and admitted that he hadn't had a date in 7 years!

Now Jake I can see how going all the way to colombia and still not being able to get a date could leave you feeling a little frustrated and.....well....a little skeptical of the agency scene. But with Bruces tours it's a whole different ball game. You can never say the women didn't show up or you were left waiting around because I've seen 400 to 500 women show up at his parties in Cali. Of course there is a down side. If you strike out at the parties, there is nobody to blame but yourself. hehehe !!!

I don't know about you Jake but I'm going to Bruces parties in June. Sure they're a little pricey but were the hell are you ever going to meet 800 or so women in a couple of days time. Now that's service!

that is your money your wasting .... Calipro you are not going to meet 800 women you are going to see 800 women , I don't care how much spanish you know , but even if you spend 15-20 minutes per lady you might meet 6-8 women ...and for that price you can stay at a agencie for 3 weeks and meet more than that ....

do the numbers .... he advertise 5000 weddings in 10 years.... give me break .... anybody can say anything but where are the facts ............

he is just like BUSH ...we knew saddam had WMD .... but where are is it ...........

Out of about 400 women at a typical TLC party there will be about 10-15 that I would say meet my very high expectations. I will meet them all and get all of their phone numbers in under 3 hours and then ask the absolutely best looking woman at the party to go out dancing with me that very night. I haven't been turned down yet.

My worst nightmare would be to spend three weeks sitting at an agency and meeting 50-60 women. I have seen guys that have met over 25 in a week. Personally I couldn't do it. I typically don't meet more than say five women from any one agency on a given trip and if after meeting five I can't find one that I like and that likes me...well then...I guess it would be time to see what Russia has to offer.

Within five minutes of meeting a woman, I know if she is my type or not. If she isn't I have to spend the next hour trying to be nice. If she is,I just want to cancel the rest of my appointments for the day and take her out right then and there. But I can't because most likely I have more appointments after her. Sometimes you get lucky and the last one you meet in the day is the hottest;-)  

Hey don't you watch FOX news? Saddam sent the WMD to Syria. hehehe!!!

I doubt if it's true but that one statement from Bush scared the Syrians so bad that they actually are trying to stop insurgents from Syria from crossing over into Iraq.

Personally I think Iraq has become a meca for terrorists and I hate to see your guys in uniform becoming soft targets for every terrorist that can't afford a plane ticket to the U.S:-(

Calipro you are the stud , but here are the facts, they charge 1000 bucks for this .  You have 2 parties , both nights are the same only different ladies maybe ????? girls show up between 8-9 pm ... you spend 1-2 hours introducing the men to the ladies ... it is now 10:30 or so . that leaves about 2 hours for a man to try and meet a special lady when there are 200-300 women and 50-60 men all after the hottest ladies .... be real ... even Romeo could not be sucessful .
maybe you a new part owner of TLC , like James and Sam were

You're right you couldn't do it. hehehe!!

The women start coming at 6:30 to 7:00 to get their pictures taken before the party even starts. Who says you have to wait until the party starts to meet the women. I have gone in the room where the women are waiting to get their pictures taken and gotten numbers before they even made it into the party. There is no end time to the parties that I know of but the pickens get slim after 11pm so I always ask the best looking one out. Lets face it the parties are not as exciting for the ladies as they are for the guys. How would you like to go to a party with 50 women and four hundred GUYS! But that leaves you the perfect opportunity to get a date with the best looking woman in the place. She is bored by 11pm she is all dressed up and no where to go.

I know where you are coming from Jake. I have seen guys go to a TLC party and come out empty handed. I have seen guys leave with out one phone number. They didn't even bring a piece of paper and a pen!

I don't care if there were 100 guys at a TLC party I would get the numbers of the hottest women in the party in under 3 hours. These guys are amateures compared to me. hehehe !!

Heres a tip for guys like you Jake so they have better luck. Always hire an interpreter at the TLC parties even if you speak good spanish. She can cut into a conversation with a hottie that is talking to another american so you can meet her. That way you don't look to forward and the other american would look a little stupid punching a young women out. hehehe!!!

Second tip always have your interpreter write the phone number down and don't talk to any one woman for more than 20 minutes max. Remember if women like you they are watching you. Sure they look like they are talking to another guy but if they are interested they are watching YOU. Nothing worst than calling a hottie that you met at the party last night to find out she is pissed because you talked to another woman longer than her and because she watched you write down 10 phone numbers. Also when you take the hottest one out that night, don't walk out with her. Say good bye to as many women that you got phone numbers from as you can and meet the hottest one in the lobby.

Most guys that go on TLC tours are completely clueless. But with a few pointers from me, they can become the ladies man they always dreamed of being. hehehe!!

Listen I'm not saying that everyone is going to have the same experiance that I have when I go to Cali. But I wouldn't keep going to TLC parties or marriage agenies if they where a bad deal for me. Now whether or not they are a good deal for you is the question you have to ask yourself. If you feel that you can attract a woman and have something to offer her then I think Colombia is the way to go. If on the other hand you don't feel confidant about you ability to keep a woman's attention for more than say a few minutes then I would stay clear of Colombia and go to Asia or something.

The bottom line is having bad teeth, bad breath and or being more than say 50lbs over weight can not be over come by giving Bruce or any marriage agency in Colombian any amount of money.

Jake,

It's fairly easy to avoid bering ripped-off.  Just don't use an agency.  If you learn Spanish well enough, you can get by on your own.

Agencies do provide a service though that can make your search more efficient.  One thing you have to realise is that they can't control the women.  If you're getting no-shows, unless it's a matter of the agency never actually contacting the women for you in the first place, then it's the women and not the agency that are causing it.

By the way, I used TLC myself years ago.  It was through one of their quarterly publications that I got her address.

I am puzzled how you could not see this, or at the very least, as a blatant attempt at humor? Now I understand there are always those that don’t get it so for them I concluded by saying this was parody. Now after all this how could you not know this? You are very quick to attack others and I don’t dispute your experiences or your justification for brining them out in the open but maybe if you weren’t as angry you could see things for what they are? An angry man will have difficulty laughing.

You need to take responsibility for your choices. With a little preliminary work you could avoid selecting a troubled agency. If one choices to eat from a street vendor in Colombia you only have one person to blame and its not the cook.

Jake I never said your question (5000 weddings in 10 years) wasn’t legitimate the point was my post was a joke and you didn’t recognize it as so and it appears you still don’t get it. Before the guy can even say anything you addressed the man rudely as "Big Bruce." So you got burned in the past by your own bad decision making and you want to go after anyone with the title of agency owner. If you really wanted to know the answer to this question why didn’t you talk to him directly? You were on the website why didn’t you call him? Instead you’re not looking for information you’re just trying to provoke. Again this is not to say you don’t have a legitimate question but I question your method.

If you want insurance on any agency get referrals. You appear not want to take responsible for some of your decisions in this matter.

Where is he getting this info? In my experience, there are far more gringos that come home with a half dozen phone numbers from beautiful Latinas regardless of the agency or tour attended, many of whom get married to one of them.

Jake, agencies are far from perfect, but your experiences are a lot more negative than I have seen. I wish you would expand about your negative experiences.

I've asked him nicely to tell his story about how he and the other guys he met got ripped off and he just blew it off. He says he want to help others no get ripped off but he offers no advice and won't tell what happen to him. I'm sure it's embarrasing but I think he should tell us when were and how he got ripped off. Otherwise he has no crediblity.

Jake, I have had some similar experiences. I recall very much wanting to meet a woman off a popular site – she was the main attraction for my interest in the agency. However, on cita day she was a no show which I also don’t like but since she was my main interest the agency made a similar deal and I had to go in a taxi across town to meet her. When she came down the stairs she was no longer the hot young nubile thing in the photo. I didn't think she was pregnant but it looked liked she'd been packing on the empanadas since her photo shoot. Hey, maybe we dated the same girl??? Anyway, I have had both good and bad agency experiences and now in the process of opening one myself in attempt to offer better, but some things are out of the control of the agency – like getting pregnant or packing on the pounds.

i am with you on the no shows - very annoying but goes with the territory. my experience has been that it varies by area. tours provide another option Jake rather than the cita thing. TLC and AFA are probably the most well-known but other agencies have large parties too. and of course i am putting together a tour and just finished a photo shoot and will be open for biz very soon

I have met a beautiful lady and should be here shortly . but that is not the point ...... it is called accountability ... after all these years the www and save and protected many men from being ripped off ........... Because I had business in SA I was able to go there a lot ... like 8-9 times a year ... and I saw more BS going on  , guys getting ripped off like a georgia peach off a tree .  it needs to stop ......... guys like OKie , lookingforwife and others can learn from our past ...

Heck just start by telling us how you got ripped off.

I never felt that I didn't get my moneys worth at any agency in Cali but then again I don't normally pay up front. Sure I have had appointments not show up. But if they don't, the agency doesn't get a dime and I'm out about thirty minutes of my time. I tell the agency right up front that I won't wait more than a half an hour or they can send them to my hotel.

And then I have seen guys that meet a bunch of women and still don't feel like they didn't get their monies worth. Why? Because they didn't hit it off with any of them. Seriously some guys just need to go to the Philipines. Colombia isn't for everybody.
